Please post your pictures here of the construction progress on 18 Fremont.
This will help keep all of us downtown fanatics updated on its progress.

I won’t be back in Vegas until the first week in October so anyone who has any current photos since demolition was completed feel free to post them to get us started.

    Thanks

    I think this is a great idea, @Tex !

I hope this thread takes off and gains momentum. Sorry I don't have anything to share but I will when I visit Downtown sometime by the end of this year.

I think it will be neat to cruise this thread and see the pics by our VMB members as the construction continues.

    Thank you @Electroguy563
Thought it would be a neat idea and something to follow for a few years and keep us excited.
Once they start erecting the steel progress should move pretty quick and pictures from week to week should show dramatic progress. It’s when they get the structure enclosed and start working mainly inside that progress will appear to slow down as interior finishout is what takes forever. And our ability to take pictures of the interior work will be hampered by access unless some people get bold and creative.

Could people also keep an eye on the 'parking structure' plot next to Plaza, and if you are extra keen there's also the plot behind that - across the railroad tracks - that they own and might also use for storage or worker parking.

The holes in the ground appear to be runoff control. They can't have rainwater pouring off onto other lots or the street.

I love watching construction sites and trying to figure out how the project managers manage the logistics of material storage, staging, and construction sequences.

I was amazed by the innovations incorporated in the building of City Center on the Strip. Their cement making plant on-site was awesome and brilliant. If I was younger I would have loved to have worked on that project.

This 18 Fremont project is interesting as well. I sometimes wish there was a way I could live at the California Hotel and watch the construction everyday.

I was planning to visit Downtown before the year ended but that might not happen, largely due to the Boyd new player Bconned bullshit. My wife and I plan to visit in Feb next year but I might just throw in a solo trip in Jan.
