Enjoy the pool in the Sun! It's rainy and cold here in NYC.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
Time for breakfast!
Enjoying your report and love the pool pics.. Aria is my favorite, I can’t wait to get back there this summer!
After our time at the pool, we headed to the room to get ready for the evening.
We headed to the Four Seasons and Charlie Palmer Steak. Had a quick drink in the lobby bar while waiting for our reservation time.
We each ordered the “Cut of the Week”...as many have said, what a deal for $58/each.
The Caesar Salad was very good and the wine started flowing freely. At all times during dinner, we had a glass of red and one of white in front of us. They were quickly refilled.
The petite ribeye was more than enough for us...we each left some on the plate. We each had a cup of coffee with our dessert.
Service was on point and it was an excellent dinner.
We headed out to get a cab...
Headed to Caesars...
James Taylor was beyond every expectation. He played a great set. The band was fantastic.
I am so glad we got to see his show. He is someone I always wanted to see.
So glad you enjoyed James Taylor!
After the show, we headed back to Aria. My wife was off and slotting. I found a spot at a $10 table and stayed there for the next five hours.
Slotting did not go well and my wife came around often for a refill of cash and a drink. The drink service was so much better than last night.
I was quickly felted with $200 gone in a fast hurry.
In for another $200 and about halfway to the felt again...then the rebound started. It was a very slow rebound; by the time I was back to even, the $1,000 we started with was down to the chips in front of me.
Rather than cash in chips, my wife decided to call it a night.
About ten minutes after she left, I had $5 on the All with a dollar on it for the dealers...
I was up a bit and played for a couple of more hours, taking a shot at hitting a little more...that did not happen...but here is our bankroll for the evening headed up to the room...
Nice yellow chip!
Appreciating the frequent updates. Good stuff!
Sunday, May 12th (continued)
We stayed at the pool until about 3;30 p.m.
Up to the room to get ready for the evening. The first of the two extra folks joining us on the trip arrived this afternoon--our daughter's boyfriend (potential son-in-law?), He flew in before our daughter to spend a little time with his dad, who was here on a business trip and is leaving Monday morning. Our daughter will join us tomorrow; she works on weekends.
We took as Lyft down to the D to meet up with he and his dad. The Lyft driver was very interesting. He was a younger man, but he was fully aware of the detachment from real life that seems to happen when people spend too much time on their phones. One of his comments was about people ordering dinner, being very hungry, but stopping to take a picture of their food to share on social media before eating. Interesting.
We met them for drinks at the Triple George. Good call by my wife. Three rounds of drinks later, we said our goodbyes and headed back to the D for dinner at Andiamo.
As usual, the service and food was great. We shared a huge Tomahawk Rib Steak. It was cut table-side; the carving convinced the couple at the next table to order the same thing. I also had a caprese salad...very good. The waiter was telling us that he had been working at the same place--with different names and owners--for 28 years. The waitress we had last time (wer asked for her, but she was off) has been there way over 30 years.
Gambled at the D--craps and slots, as usual. Lost badly. Down $300.
Headed back to Aria for the same stuff in a different location. It was brutal overall. My wife saved us with a nice Buffalo hit, but at the end of the day we were down $500.
This is what kept the gambling from being a total disaster for the day...
Up bright and early...I just never can get on "Vegas Time"...I am running on 2-4 hours of sleep and a few minutes napping at the pool. I think the odds are good that I will feel it at some point...
Finished up the billing work i prepped this weekend. We email all of our invoices; I have mailed one in the two years we have been in business.
One of the best parts of my job is flexibility...I don't use an "out of office" very often. I prefer to handle things as they happen. It is easy to stay on top of things since my wife sleeps in later than I do--that builds in the time to do a few hours of work when necessary.
Happy Monday from the Aria Sky Pool!
A lot less folks here today. A very nice morning in Vegas. My wife will be joining me when she gets done with her workout.
Our daughter is inbound; her flight will get in 30 minutes early.
I have read from multiple people that mothers day was busy this year. I'm surprised. Didn't seem that way last year. Hit something big today like I did on the day after mother's day last year!
We were last year this same weekend (I think the exact same days of the week). It was MUCH busier this year than last. The casino had more tables open and active and there were a lot more people at the pool...they reached capacity Saturday and Sunday; there was a waitlist for chairs at this pool.
Andiamo was also very busy.
We will try for a big hit!
Okay...everyone is here...the daughter and potential SIL stopped by and got a key to our room. Image is listed on the reservation; he decided to come way after I did that.
They are off to Cosmo for lunch and she has a hair appointment.
She did bring my wife her Mother’s Day present...
James Avery necklace...
That takes care of that bucket...
