    My Trip Report

Started for MSP at around 7 a.m. I knew my flight (Northwest) was already delayed for an hour minimum so I could have waited a bit. But went with the hope that the 9:30 flight might also be delayed. However, driving 35 miles thru a TORRENTIAL rainstorm slowed all speed on the I down considerably. Arrived to check-in at about 9:20 but they were already loading that plane so no chance to switch. After a 20 minute security wait (LOTS of problems ahead of me) I sat down for a nice breakfast of Eggs Benedict and then a 2 hour wait for flight. Flight was uneventful until the last 30 minutes when I swear it could have competed as a new entry in the motion ride category. Most exciting was right at end when he hit a small down airpocket at the same time the nose was going to drop. The kids across the aisle squealed & yelled and LOVED it. The adults were moaning.....

My friends had just come back from their 2 day jaunt to Lake Tahoe (which they loved) and we hopped a bus to the rental facility to pick up National Emerald. Another Chevy Impala - perfect for us. I left B (him) to the task of figuring out the AC while I got us on the road. Only 102 - a COLD spell!!! Dropped them at Flamingo (they ended up with a room that they could see the fountains at an angle at Bellagio & plasma TV etc - nicely remodeled). Back to Paris up the backstreet-drop the car at valet and off to check-in. She was going to give me a standard but I did pull out my ressie with Deluxe on it (only the view changes) and she just took a copy of it. They evidently don't normally comp the deluxe ??? and when she finally got into the 2nd part of my ressie it came up fine on that one . (Was arriving 1 day b4 the offer card on a comp nite). Room is directly behind the Eiffel Tower so can't see the fountains but still nicer than a parking lot! And no sun in the window in the morning-love it. For some reason 2 beds again-all ones with 1 bed still not cleaned. Just use the 2nd one as a luggage rack.

Stuck some $ in a .01 slot and managed to come out $60 ahead so I had some seed $ for Red Rock. Picked up my friends & we headed there. Ended up playing two hours before we ate on the first $20 I put in (@ $1 per play on penny slots). Ate at their buffet and it was VERY GOOD. Fried shrimp had no flavor but everything else was outstanding. We were all exhausted from jetlag so headed back by 8:30. Went to room to collapse where it was now for some reason FIFTY-EIGHT DEGREES IN THE ROOM. Turned the heat on and went back downstairs for an hour or so to warm up. Only lost half of what I expected, LOL so it wasn't bad down there. But casino was VERY crowded.

My well wishers at home this morning are texting and calling me in a normal time frame for them. WAY TO EARLY FOR ME, lol.

I'll try to keep the next one a bit shorter since there isn't much of anything exciting to say.....Thanks for listening!

Have fun...I'm envious. I usually test the limits of my in-room air conditioner...I like it cold at night (or morning when I'm sleeping in Vegas). Does Paris have those auto on / off motion sensor things, though? I know Harrah's does...but it is probably cheaper in every way than Paris...its better- off cousin.

Any time you lose 1/2 of expectations is a victory in my book!
