    My Trip Report

    Here you go...

Alan (The hubby) and I left on 10/1 at 0630 for Chicago to LV. This was our first score of the trip. We were on the afternoon flight out of Pittsburgh and took a chance on getting on an earlier flight. We were on United/TED...no problems, used them coz I had a companion ticket so he was free.(but not easy)
Second score of the trip...Dollar rental. We were to have a midsize car, none avalible so the attendant says take one of those over there...waving to the right of the lot. The Luxury section of the lot. I couldn't get to the 300M fast enough so we had a Pacifica fancy pants edition. Too many bells and whistles to play with. Off we go to our first hotel of the trip.

Now before you all go EEEWWW!!!! We stayed 4 nights at the Plaza. NO smell in casino. Room was in North tower...nothing fancy but was clean and comfortable. We like to stay there for the ease of wandering about. The staff was telling me there are going to be many improvements and changes. They all seemed pleased about that. We
did see Daniel Negreaneu (?sp) from the poker shows there. Played Texas Tea, Tobasco and WOF in slots...did pretty well. We did play a lot of DDBJ at $5 tables. Varied my bets and did good. We have a budget and are good about staying in it and must of did OK coz it was Monday before we got into our safety deposit box for any $$$$.

Tuesday saw us moving to Harrah's. 2 free nights. Oh , by the way when we checked out of the Plaza...our bill was $6.25. Yep that's it. So now we are on the strip. Played almost exclusively at Imperial Palace. They had DDBJ in thier champagne pit and we had a blast. the dealers are nice and we just had a great time. During this trip we also played alot at the Orleans. That is a fabulous place. [IMG]
We didn't see any shows or eat at any fancy spots. Mostly diners/buffets/food courts. We did eat At Mon Ami Gabi...OMG...the food was great, the view spectacular and the drinks were ...STRONG!!! I love it.
On Thursday we were to come home. Pacled up and returned the car. Off to check in. We were heading to the gate ad I turned to Alan and said..." we don't have to go home today. We don't have to be at work until Sunday night" He said "Let's change our flight" back to the ticket counter where the lady changed us to Sat to come home...same flights...Thank you very much.
Called the Orleans and reserved a room for 2 nights. Went to get a cab...Lordy the line was long. They did keep it moving pretty well. We got over to the Orleans and into our room. Everything I have read about these rooms is true. It was lovely, clean and the bed was oh so comfortable. We really did have a good time there. Rode the shuttle over to the strip to go to the Paris buffet...YUMMY!! I was the woman face down in the chocolate crosaints. :D
We had an uneventful flight home and now I am in acute LV withdrawl. Thank goodness I have my new LV plushy pillow to snuggle with. Already planning next trip. Hope you enjoy my report.

Great report, Jamie!!! It sounds like you had a blast... doesn't take much in Vegas... ;)

I'm glad you enjoyed the Orleans; it's one of my very favorite places to stay!

    Good Read Jamie,

Good to hear some positive things about the Plaza. [IMG] I've never stayed but have always wanted to "give it a go". With the positive changes, I will probably consider it more seriously next trip. It has been on my "short list" a few times, but my 1st downtown stay, it got beat out by the Fitz, and 2nd time when downtown, a Nugget e-mail promo that I couldn't turn down for 39.00 a night.

Glad you had a fun time

Thanks for all the replies. Here's a few answers to ypur questions.

    1. I have NO idea how the plaza was only $6 at the end. We did book thru a casino host and 2 nights were free but when we checked out they said we were credited our rooms and $6 was all we owed. OK!!
    2. The orleans is my new fav. What a great place. The room was a standard room but WOW!! A sitting area, roomy are to work in in the bath. COMFY bed.
    3. The Plaza is great to stay at downtown. We have stayed there twice and being a nurse I have smelled some funky stuff. Not a weird odor to be sniffed. In fact they seemed to have increased thier smoke eater usage. Not too smokey in there.
My only dissapointment was the Sun Spots were on a leave. But Elvis was in the building.
    4. We work nights and weren't to be back at work until Sunday night. So we planned on coming home Thursday to get in a day or 2 at home. Instead we got in an extra day or 2 in LV. This was a much better option.
