Excellent TR and I echo the above, you seem like a good person and I'm really glad you had fun. I also prefer vegas alone, I've gone with friends and my fiance but, and nothing against them, I have more fun alone and meet a ton of people from all walks of life like you did.

    Thanks for the TR!

@XtremeD - Enjoyed reading your 'solo' trip report - sounds like good rapport and friendly disposition drew in newfound friends - I can see how that made it a really fun trip!
And if that was pineapple on that awesome looking pizza - you just made another Vegas friend :feedme::drooling: - yum!
    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that info. For some stupid reason, even back home (In Canada) I never seem to bother signing up for those rewards/points cards and I damn well know I should have. Is the MyVegas thing really worth it? The way I see it, is if I'm gonna get rooms comp'd or cheaper, then the flight must be substantially cheaper as well, or else just booking the trip w/ flight+hotel+taxes makes more sense. This trip cost me $649.50CAD (included the shuttle to/from the airport) which is $506.09USD.

I can't picture getting it much cheaper than that to be honest which is why I am actually wondering if getting one of those cards or a MyVegas account is even worth it. After my girlfriend saw all the pictures I had and the production of that concert (laser show being quite impressive) she wants to go and see a show or 2 down there. Absinthe being one of them. After showing her brother my videos and the picture of that pizza and the zipline on fremont (he's terrified of heights) he now wants to go for sure as well. Although I prefer a solo trip, I'd like my girlfriend to come, I just don't know how she'll handle the walking aspect of it though as that's one of the main reasons she didn't want to go the first time. That and she didn't want me to leave her alone to go and see that concert (she had no interest in seeing it and knows damn well that I would go again if it was there when we go, but I know it wont.)

you may want to consider signing up for reward cards, comps can be applied to more just rooms. Comps can be applied towards food, shows, resort free, and more.

Good job on trip and report.

Booking a Caesars Corp room with your total reward's number will usually at least get you casino rate (about a 50% savings even with no play). Your play produces comps that can be used to take off your final bill. THERE IS NO REASON FOR NOT USING A TR CARD.
As for Caesars Corp properties vs. MGM Corp properties, I find rooms are easier to get comped at Caesars' properties. I find MGM properties are nicer. Both have lousy gaming rules. MGM has the MyVegas thing. It was good when it started but they keep cutting back on the awards' value. I don't bother with it anymore. If you want to spend hours a day playing slots on your computer you may be able to tweak out some rewards.

    Hope it's not too cold!

Great report!! My solo trip is a little over 2 weeks away. Love the solo trips!! And I agree with the others here, Total Rewards is great on room comps. Their hotels are located on center Strip, and it will be a shorter walk for you to Fremont St. next time!! :bang:

Surprisingly I didn't mind the walk, met some cool locals along the way, although I'm sure all were homeless, only 2 said they were. That's why I gave him my half full beer when he asked for a sip. Guess I'm just a nice person that way. Unfortunately I don't always get the same kindness back where I'm from but eventually I will.

Patman hopefully I run into you again in Vegas. If finances permit it I will be heading back around april for my 32nd birthday.

If you think the wait for one pizza is long, imagine the wait to have a second one made after they dropped the first! (This was in Illinois, not Las Vegas. )

I would recommend you don't bring a 13YO with you. And triple your walking around budget if your Girl Friend comes along but the perks might be worth it :headbang:

Wow, you walked from Giordano's to FSE? That's impressive. You're a better man than I.
