I was at the MGM for the day yesterday, and no guests were wearing a mask. If I could set the over/under for the entire casino for guests wearing masks, I would set it at 5 people. It was pretty crowded for a Tuesday. Every other machine turned off. Did not see anyone using the hand washing station upon my couple of laps around the casino. Really pretty disturbing to see so many people without masks and in close proximity. Had to wear a mask if playing craps. Allowed to touch the cards at pai gow and 3 card poker.

I know some of the replies before mine are off of the original question but going back to that...

My last trip was right before everything shut down. I came back from Vegas (on a Monday) and found out a few days (Thursday) later someone at the hotel we were staying at had been diagnosed with Covid. I told my boss and she told me to go home to be on the safe side. The following days everywhere started closing.

I didn't post that to my TR because at that point this conversation was very new and I didn't want to go against any forum rules.

If I went back to Vegas (I don't know if I will any time soon) and got it after I would probably share that information. Whether it be from the flights, hotel or casinos, I'm a firm believer people need to know that certain precautions should be taken right now.

I would not. For a few reasons.
    • I'd have no way of knowing that I got it in LV. Maybe I got it when I stopped for milk on the way home from the airport, or from a coworker my first morning back.
    • As a healthcare worker, I'm wired not to discuss any individual's health issues, including my own. I never put my health info on social media. When a staff member calls me to say they're staying home with flu, or going for tests, etc. I tell others "xxxxxx isn't coming in today" but not why. Even when a coworker excitedly tells me she's pregnant, even if shes clearly telling others, I tell no one else. That's me... others may feel differently. I guess the 1990s lesson of two employees at a CA hospital (I worked at another hospital nearby) getting fired for discussing a patient, not realizing the VP of nursing was behind them in the elevator, stuck with me. I'm HIPAA-whipped!
So, I might come home from Vegas and test positive. I might have already had Covid. I might be writing this from my hospital bed or my room at the nuthouse..... I won't be posting the health specifics here.

I would certainly post it. One, it might help others seek testing and control the spread. And two, I don’t know anyone personally who has caught this virus, except Tom Hanks. I’m not any kind of deny-er (apparently not an actual word), but the impact has been pretty light in my area, and without more information I don’t think I’d feel more threatened in Vegas than at home.

Yes, I would report any illness on this board with the caveat that I also traveled and could have picked it up between Oregon and Nevada. It's unlikely I would have gotten it elsewhere since I live on several acres and most of my groceries are delivered so I rarely come into contact with anyone other than Charley and he is not a carrier (see below).

I wouldn't travel this soon but my answer would be hypothetically; I would absolutely post here on a trip report if I got sick. I know that I would not know if I got sick from the air/hotel/blahblahblah, but I would post it because I would want to show how easy it still is to get this thing no matter WHERE I got it. It's not about whether or not you got in in Vegas to me. It IS about you getting it via travel and I feel that is super important to us to know here. Just my 2 cents.

Based on what you saw, are you planning on going back soon? Just curious since I often read your posts.

Yeah, me too... but I would still post here, if I picked up covid-19 within two weeks of my trip. (Fingers crossed... it's been 7 days since I got home - so far, so good!)

I have a real trip planned in two weeks, but don't really know if I will spend much time in the casino based on what I saw. The trip is based around a multi day golf tournament, so it may turn into a eat/sleep/ golf trip, without much gaming. I also really do not like the look or feel of playing cards through a bank teller window

Just got back from the mountains of Logan (UT) and even with 130 other ultrarunners on a 28-mile loop, felt quite safe. Good choice Ken.
