    My Trip Report

DayTwo After going almost 24 hrs without sleep I woke up refreshed and ready to go, about 4hrs later. I decide to walk around the casino and find the two-dollar min craps table at the Plaza packed. Being the big time low roller that I am I buy in. I had a great time, everyone screaming and yelling played for about two hours and came out about 20 bucks ahead. Finally collect everyone and head for the Palace Station for buffet. I mistakenly thought buffet was 3.99 for breakfast but that is during the week not weekend. Oh well.
We take ride to Tropicana to buy Follies tickets but first catch the 11:am Air Play show. WOW it was really good. Next walk up to skybridge area to play big slot in front of Trop. Just get usual Free deck of cards and free Casino memorabilia museum tickets. Used $10.00 off coupon from mag to purchase tickets then checked out the museum. That was pretty cool. Then went to the Aladdin to check out the shops and rainstorm for the girls.
We were getting hungry so had to go to the HO and get some cheap grub. Had the dog with kraut, couldn’t finish it. Girls had Strawberry short cake. Took in some free ice cream and free Elvis show. Say what you want but for some reason I like the Ho. Could have gone without the show but what do you want for nothing.
Had a siesta and headed for Ellis Island for a bite. My friends couldn’t believe how wonderful the steak was. Left the island at 6 to catch the 7 show at TI. By the way they change the time of the show to 6,8,and 10, as opposed to 7,9,11 I saw in magazine. The show was going when got there so headed for NYNY. Was planning on going to the new Irish pub but me friend ended up at Coyote Ugly. They had a free cover, were carding everyone except us “that’s ok you guys look you guys look old enoughâ€, thank a lot buddy. The bar was ok but I’m in my forties it got old after awhile, grabbed the girls and headed to TI for 10:00 show. Don’t go, it’s not worth seeing. Your time is better spent downtown at the Freemont Street Experience. So here we are it’s Sunday night in Vegas I want to try some of the Night Clubs but friend wants to go back to hotel to gamble, the nerve of him. He is at poker for a couple hours, friends’ wife , my wife , and I walk around downtown, she really liked the spray paint artist. End up crashing around 12:30.

    Day Three
Woke up around 5, went to gym, showered played some early craps again. Went next door to Main St Station for breakfast buffet. Then headed out to Ryolite. Wife wanted to check out Ghost Town. That was kind of cool. Killed most of day. Had the Chicken dinner for 4.95 at Terribles for supper. Got back in time to watch the Pats beat Denver Mon night and then headed for the Follies. It was a very good show. Now my body is betraying me. I can just about stay awake time to crash.

    Day Four
Woke up around 7am let the whirlwind begin. Went back to Terribles so buddy could collect his winnings from Mon night bet on game. Had breakfast there, couldn’t finish it. Wow. Next stop Harras, friends sign up for slot club so can get discount Mac King Tickets. Walk over to Caesars for forum shops and Atlantis show. Back to Harras for Mac Show. Had dinner at Ellis again, Damm that steak is really good. Then to Luxor for the BMG show. After show over to Beliagio for fountain show. Then back to Plaza to play some craps. I was winning butt wasn’t much fun. I have learned my lesson. Craps is best played in wee hours of morning when everyone is either drunk or strung out from coffee all night long.

    Day Five
Wow it went by fast. Up at 5 am so walked over to Binions and had coffee and Muffin. Then went over to GG to loose money to pretty young thing at BJ table. They comped me a drink. So I brought back a $50.00 coffee for my wife. Had Breakfast at Main Street again, Then off to airport. I have to say I really enjoyed The Plaza. Hopefully next time will be a little warmer so can enjoy pool.

Well that’s it everyone sorry its so long but tried to cram in a lot of stuff for the virgin couple. They said they would definitely be back. So will I but not soon enough. We spent about $600 including shows(except BMG purcahsed on line Hotel too), food, rental car, gambling. Am I frugel or cheap? Does it matter I love Vegas.

The stip is a nice place to visit but i wouldn't want to live there.

    Dave,
We were thinking of day roadtrip on our next visit. What about Ryolite did you guys find worthwhile? That might be just what were looking for in terms of taking a break from the brgiht lights and neon of Vegas

    chef,
Its about 1.5 to 2 hour drive. My wife and freinds really enjoyed it. It was just okay for me. The guy that gives you the"tour" of the bottle house was a hoot thou.I beleive he said he was there from Oct to April. There are 4 or 5 colapsed building and two complete buildings left. If you are into the ghost town thing its great. Just not really my thing. It was nice but i wouldn't want to go back to see it like i would the Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon. If anyone smokes there is an Indian smoke shp about a half hour out of vegas on way, had to stop for wife.
We like to get away for day also when we go, any other ideas for day trip?
