We had a great time. Here are some of the details:
HOTEL
Stayed in the Augustus Tower at Caesar's. The room was nice. We had a view of the Bellagio fountains, Planet Hollywood and Paris.
There are lots of places to hang out and eat. We only grabbed a quick bite in the food court and a few drinks at the Shadow Bar when we first arrived. The casino is good. Found a few $10 blackjack tables. Not many. Tried to find a cash game in the poker room on a Wed around noon, and there were none to be found.
GAMBLING
We played all over the strip. And a little off of it. Watch your blackjack odds. Look for 2 to 1, not 6 to 5. Bills and Harrah's has 6 to 5. And Bill doesn't give you even money on a blackjack against an ace. But they do have a fun karaoke bar some nights. The Flamingo has some tables with extra-pretty lady dealers and loud music. They are nice, and as good as any dealer. But they took our money! Oh well.
Played in a $60+$10 single table sit and go at the Mirage. That was fun and they are always running.
My wife loved the dealers at the Rio. They were fun and helpful. She did not like one dealer at Ellis Island, a local casino a block off the strip. Suffice it to say, be extra clear about your hand signals.
FOOD
Bellagio breakfast buffet is pretty good and reasonably priced. Didn't do a sunday brunch this time. They are extra pricey, but offer more choices. We did hit the buffet at the Rio. It was fantastic. Wanted to catch the games on Sunday, so we went to Blondie's in the Miracle Mile shops. Great food. Great game! (Go Giants!) We also had a very nice meal at Mon Ami Gabi, at Paris. Sat outside under the heat lamps, watching the people walk by, and the Bellagio fountain shows. Excellent food and wine. No room for dessert though!
If you like ribs, try Ellis Island on Koval (10 minute walk from Bally's). They have an excellent and huge plate of ribs, with cole slaw, beans and corn. They also have another restaurant with a full menu which we will try next time. It is a local hang out. And everyone seemed nice.
SHOWS
If you like the Beatles, and you like Cirque de Solei then see Love. The show was fun. The music was great (of course)
If you like guessing prices, Bally's has The Price is Right Live! It's actually very fun. And like the TV show, people win real prizes.
If you like Penn & Teller see...well, Penn & Teller. Live at the Rio. After the show, they shake hands and sign autographs. Very nice.
Have fun! We did.
