Hi, anyone ever do the Norwegian offers? A lot are available now . Worthwhile and can you upgrade?
Norwegian cruises are new this year and Norwegian has been very aggressive in their cruise offers. I took one (not a myVegas trip) to Alaska and it was nice, even though I am not a "cruise person".
Thanks DaiLun, yep we cruised a lot on Norwegian, just wondered about the cost for port fees and such and if cabin upgrades are available.
Treat it as a "free" cruise that you would ordinarily get from the casinos. You are still responsible for port fees taxes, and gratuities I ended up being <$1000 out of pocket for a 7 day cruise to Alaska, and only because I bought a few excursions and drink packages.
Cabin upgrades I'm not so sure. I can ask my host.
My host just replied. They are upgradeable. You can check with Norwegian at the time of booking regarding upgrades.
Thanks, you are the best. Really enjoyed your last trip report, very detailed and informative.
In the reward terms and conditions they list an approx per pax. 436 pp on the one I pulled up. Fuel supplement could be in addition as well.
thanks, still a lot left to choose from!
Redeemed this today. It is combinable with all offers and other deals on NCL. You will have to pay the port fees plus $20 per person per day admin fee. So for a weeklong cruise for 2 it came out to $140 admin plus $173 port fees per person for an inside room. Inside room was currently listed as $1019 per person so to upgrade to any other room it would be the cost of that room minus 1019 plus 140.
Aadding a 3rd and 4th passenger was the going rate from the website which was $499 plus $173 per person. By booking an inside room I got to choose one offer from the list of free offers available this week. If I had upgraded to a balcony I would have gotten to choose all four offers.
IN addition to be up-gradable NCL allows you to bid on upgrades 80 days out You can get a great deal here
We cruise 2-3 times per year on NCL. We book through their casino company, Casinos at Sea. Similar experience to @William heilman ... Cost for 2 in an inside cabin on a 14 day cruise comes to about $1200. This includes one option which we choose the meal plan (3 meals on a 7 day cruise, 5 meals on a 14 day cruise). They also offer us a comped bar in the casino. So, whenever the casino is open (every evening and many of the daytimes) we get free booze without that pre-tip 18% crap. I tip $1/drink. We go to the casino to grab a glass of wine on our way to dinner, sometimes a pina colada on the way to the pool if a sea day. Nice.
***If you own 50 shares of NCL stock, you get a $100 cabin credit added into your portfolio. We bought at ~$51/share so an additional $300 (3 cruises) in dividends is sweet. You have to send in proof of stock ownership prior to your cruise to get the $100 cabin credit.
Personally, we now rate platinum and get an additional 2 dinners and a bottle of wine, waters for the room and free laundry service. Like casinos, loyalty has its rewards.
Thanks- William & Smerrian & loony tony. Great info, gotta decide what to do.
As I understand it... this reward can be booked as solo without having to pay the taxes and fees for a second person, right?
I.e. say the taxes and fees are 400-odd per person... If I'm going solo, that's exactly how much I'll have to pay, right?
Also, the $15-ish per person per day gratuities are added to your folio too, right?
Don’t see any in my app. Are they gone? Do they appear periodically?
I see them in both the Facebook versions of myVegas and myKonami.
To be clear, while the NCL category is visible on both apps, you can see more NCL cruises on Konami, and only limited ones on MyVegas for some reason.
Thanks! See them now!
Are these offers for 1 person or 2 people?
They cover 2 people, but you can use them for 1.
I booked one of the 7 night cruises. Total fees/taxes were $362. For two people it would have been double that.
Thank you. One more question, do I need to pay the fees/taxes at the same time that I book? I'm assuming so, but I did not see it in the terms and conditions.
