So my buddies want to go on a trip and we have decided to not go to Vegas, I still think Vegas will be a better trip idea for us. However, it doesn't hurt to go somewhere else. So far the group has narrowed down Nashville, Seattle, and Houston. I'm supposed to think of a place that is not Vegas to go to. I was thinking maybe Miami, we would mostly go to Bars and just explore the city and relax.

Its hard to think of places to go to as everyone wants to do a budget trip. I mentioned Vegas because I could get comped rooms, and the flights were cheap. Now with wherever else we go we have to find more expensive flights and hotels. Oh well, it'll be fun hanging out with old friends wherever we go.

I need advice on a fun place to go or if any of you have advice for the places I mentioned above.

It'll be in late March, I'm planning on sneaking a Vegas trip in before, no outdoor activities planned

I LOVE Seattle, just be prepared for wet. If Texas, I'd offer up Austin or San Antonio over Houston. Key West. I'm a fan of St. Augustine, too. Tucson.

Eat. Drink. Do the touristy shit -- Space Needle, waterfront, music experience, take a ferry, Pike, check out Ballard, maybe the underground tour. No ballgames that time of year, which is too bad. Get a line off to Sonya as our resident Puget Sounder.

Seattle's food scene has exploded the past decade or so. Absolutely exploded. I might choose it over -- blasphemy -- San Francisco.

NYC or Chicago if my choice. LOL, almost a no-brainer. :)

Hijacks don't bother me but you will get more eyes if you put this in a standalone thread with PR in the subject line.

Personally I was bored in both Seattle and Portland. I enjoyed San Francisco and NY. Miami, Houston and Nashville also weren't worth going back to either. It all depends on what you want to do. If all you do is drink and club then you could probably go anywhere.

I'm obviously a bit biased toward Nashville, but I can say that its very pretty in late March, has a sizeable club/bar/tourist area similar to vegas and New Orleans, and is not as expensive as NYC or Chicago

I'd say that time of year, New Orleans is a good place to go... I usually have an event down there middle or third weekend in March but they decided to go with another company, so no charbroiled oysters for me... :(

I endorse New Orleans too. If you want to work in some casino action there are some nearby in LA as well as Biloxi an hour 15 away.

I would do just about any city in Texas before Houston

As a cubs fan, have you thought about a trip geared around spring training?
Arizona weather should be good, and you could get in some Vegas in a little side trip.

They have an agreement with a nearby hotel.
