Hey Gang...

I've gotten a few emails and private messages asking if there would be some sort of T2V meet being organized for July.

I am not aware of one, but I know folks are looking at rates. Unfortunately, my summer vacation plans don't include Vegas this year. Those of you who know me well know that I've always said that I'd trade Vegas for a sailboat and palm trees anytime. Anyhow, since I can't hang out with my Phoenix buddies as much as I'd like, we've organized a different type of trip for July.

So over the 4th of July weekend, Ed W, Derek, and myself will be heading here:

The closest I'm gonna come to a Casino that weekend is that building in the center. After spending the night visiting 'a noisy bar in Avalon', we'll head 'down island' to Two Harbors for a weekend of Buffalo Milk, beer, and Buffett music.

We're shooting for being the inspiration for Jimmy Buffett's next boxed set--Boats Beaches Bars & Buffoonery.

Hurricane

I'm not an avid Buffet fan, however I will be looking forward to his next album to hear the "Hurricane Bufoonery" song!
Mahalo!

Oooh Catalina Island! I will toast you all while enjoying a frosty beverage at the Fat Elvis show.

Besides, you should be a vegas resident by then...

At least one of the boats in the top picture has to belong to a Bond villain. Speaking of, which one of those boats is going to be yours, at least for the duration?

Well Doc--

I don't think it's in that particular picture, but here's a photo:

It's a 36-foot Catalina, barely a year old. We'll be using it as our own 'Black Pearl', raiding all of the liquor stocks on the island for about four days.

Sweet. Some of my wife's friends had a boating party last summer on Lake Pepin, a bulge in the Big Muddy up here. We went out on a boat not unlike that one, maybe a little smaller. It came up that I'd sailed before, and the owner promptly handed me the tiller before I could tell him that was on a 14' day sailer on a much smaller lake and more than ten years ago. It was a little breezy that day, and the first thing we did was head into the wind, heeling over pretty good, which always made me a little nervous but especially with someone else's boat that cost as much as my house. But the owner kept pulling german beers out of the cabin, and we wound up having a good old time on what turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. Mem-ories...

Mikey....you're truly a a man after my own heart...it's a toss up, Vegas or boats, booze and Buffet...they're all the true staples of life as we know it

When we lived in Seattle, we had an old "woody" 1966 32 GB and took off to the San Jauns and the Canandian Gulf Islands every year. As you know...it's a feeling you can't explain but only experience. My wife had to pry me off of the boat at the end of 2 weeks..lol I'd be making plans to sell the house, cash in the IRA's and figuring how we could live aboard and make it on a $1000 a month
Have a ball my freind and enjoy the salt spary hitting you in the face and the rum and tequila hitting you in mouth
