    Hey,

Just out of curiosity I checked prices for a future visit next summer (currently booked at PHo) and saw that Paris was cheaper for equivalent room

We like the PHo vibe and surrounding restaurants but…but I should just book Paris and bank the $100, right?

    thanks.

If it's that far out and refundable, no reason not to book now. If it goes down you can always re-book, and if it goes up you're protected.

Yeah It’s waaay out (next summer) so I’ve double booked, just wanted a sanity check before I cancel PHo.

probably would have not bothered if the poker room there was still around.

Since both hotels are right next to each, I think that the amount saved is considerable. Besides, I like both places, but I like the rooms at Paris a little better.

I would take Paris and the savings.

Personally I would usually take Paris if prices were the same, but that is a closer call, and if you like PH amenities you may disagree.

Main difference in the rooms would be bigger tub at PH

    Agree. I'd do Paris.

Base Paris rooms also have floor to ceiling windows so a much better view/daylight.
    Less bad pool.
We thought the PH casino was trashier than normal and the machines seemed dirtier on our recent stay. Probably won't stay there for awhile.
CET considers Paris in its top 3 after CP/Cromwell and I believe they give it a bit more attention.
For example the Diamond Check In room at PH is still closed, but not at Paris.

Just stayed at Paris last week, but ate a few meals at PH. It is an easy walk over. Due to valet at PH being terrible, whenever we want to visit PH and are staying somewhere else, we will valet at Paris and just walk over. I personally don't like the vibe of the PH casino, but like some of their restaurants and also their rooms. However, since I mainly play wherever we are staying, we won't stay at PH anymore.

I agree, París is a better choice even at the same price. I did wind up staying there once this year in a Jr suite and the room was much nicer than expected. If they had better VP tables I would stay there more in the future.

The PH casino has felt really grungy this year on a couple of walkthroughs. It feels like they are “letting it go” while they concentrate on Caesars Palace. Frankly both Paris and PH used to have some high limit action but at this point it has mostly migrated to CP or away from CET altogether.

We've stayed at Paris 2x and PHO 1x. Didn't care for PHO so we left after 1 night.
Its been awhile since we stayed at Paris but we would maybe stay there again.
Not sure if they've upgraded the casino. Seemed they had a lot of old busted slots.

    Thanks for your help everyone.

It’s a 6 night stay so only like $18 cheaper but I’ve decided to move to Paris. I do like the Pho vibe and cheap eats but we’re only next door and I like the fact the property will be a bit more chilled as a base, and we’ll be closer to bellagio and flamingo where we will probably end the night with some poker so I think it’s right.

I was surprised by the split decision though, every recent bit of feedback I read on Pho has not been particularly flattering so i was expecting this to be a complete slam dunk decision.

    thanks,
    Jim

PH has historically been my favorite place on the strip but i was disappointed with my stay in May - minimums were high, table game rules got worse, and the vibe was off compared to what i remember. they haven't recovered well from the shutdown - i don't know if it's strictly COVID related, if el dorado is just that bad, or if they're not putting as much into it because they're selling it - but it unfortunately wasn't the same.

still have the same great low cost food options in Miracle Mile - so there's that. but the casino itself was a let down.

Prefer Paris rooms and casino. I like eateries at both. Both have issues with valet and parking.

That is a good way of putting it, PH has not recovered well from the shutdown. It’s Harrahtization is pretty much complete.

So glad I’m seeing a lot of people agreeing on the fact that PH has gone down hill. Stayed there back in august and a few times before that. The slots were super tight and the machines were mostly old games. Construction was going on, vibe was not all there felt super trashy. Will be in vegas this weekend and decided to pick Paris this time. I saw some you tube bloggers showing new slots machines so hopefully it’ll be better scene. Also love the dim sum they have at Paris, while pricey, it’s convenient. Plus you’re still close to everything that you’re used to at PH

We usually stay at Paris but are switching to PHo this time just for something different. Based on this thread, I hope we won’t regret it! We have a Panorama suite with second bedroom, and we typically like the gaming floor there and love the eating choices as well as being connected to the mall. It’s been 2.5 years since we stayed there, and that was in a Vista room, which we loved. Fingers crossed, I guess.

I even had a host comment/agree recently when discussing PH.
The Vista/Panorama rooms are nice. Make sure you keep valuables locked up, would do that anywhere though.
