Trips to Las Vegas
90
After all these trips I have never posted a TR.
I'm going to try to post something like a TR although probably not live.
Typing this from the plane somewhere over the Midwest.
Wife along on this trip so I will probably behave better than usual.
Lineup looks like this:
Checking into SkySuites tonight and scheduled to head home Sunday.
Flight out of Philly on AA delayed about 40 min.

Cher at Park Theater Wednesday (wife's request)
Jean George for dinner after that.

Thursday some friends arrive and dinner at Carbone.

Fri is dinner at Lago

Sat Matt Franco and dinner somewhere.Friends going to MJ One so problem catch them for 9:30 dinner .
Maybe JS at Aria.

Planning on a lot of dice and BJ during the day and late night.
Probably have to do my obligatory two hours at the pool a couple days to keep things peaceful.
Can't wait for Carbone!!

Ready to follow along!! Good luck with the TR, they can get a little rough past the 10 minute mark in Vegas.

Sounds like a great trip! Have a blast! Your itinerary sounds quite similar to what I might plan for Aria. I can only recommend to add some Guinness, garlic knots and NBA bets at the Aria book :)

Back on the plane heading to Philly and will catch up over the next couple days.

Tues.night checked into SkySuites without a hitch .
The Aria was completely full with some tech meeting and the place was jammed when we arrived.
They gave me room 56002 at the end of the hall.
These are my least favorite suites as they are a little smaller than the regular one bedroom Aria Suites.
The good news however with being at the end of the hall was we were not next to any of the parties going on in the suites up and down the hall.

Walked over to Wolfgang Puck in Crystals and had a couple cocktails and appetizers.
Meatballs, calamari, and arancini did the trick. We split the three apps and waked back in to Aria.

I was ready to hit the craps pit so my wife decided to unpack and crash.

I should have done the same thing!

$1K cash and $2K marker gone in 40 min.
Bad start to the trip.
Almost no passes and very few repeat numbers on place bets.
Decided to play some VP triple play DDB outside the Spin, the high limit slots area .
Broke about even after 20 minutes and called it a night.

Figured that I'll get it back Wed.morning.

Since I was still on Philly time I woke up at 5:30 .
Wed. morning the craps table was just as cold.
One new thing at Aria is that Tues,Wed.and Thurs.there is only one table open until.11am.
The dealers told me they just started about a month ago.
Aria has always had at least two dice tables open all the time.
I understand the cost of running a table is high but this definitely limits the options for dice players.

I burned through a couple more markers and played some VP before changing and heading to the pool to meet my wife for a couple hours .
I'm not a pool guy but needed a break and told her I would hangout for a couple hours.
The Skypool is very nice and it was quiet as all the conventioneers were busy working away.

Oredered lunch at the pool.Their food is surprisingly good .
I had the chicken Caesar wrap and she had a burger.
I drank one vodka and she had two.
$75 was the damage....What a deal!

Went back to the room around 3:00 to shower before hitting the tables again.
We had tix for Cher at 7:00 pm(I thought )and figured I could get an hour or two in before going to pick up the tix.
Now that Aria does not have a show, they got rid of their box office so I planned on going to MC around 5:30.

So..........this day is really starting to suck.
Craps table is awful.
Wife and I walk over to box office at MC and they tell me the show is at 8:00 not 7:00.
Host got tix for me so I did not go on website to purchase .I must have just assumed it was 7:00 like most other shows.
Now I have an extra hour to kill and have to call Jean George to change my reservation to later.

She wanted to be outside so we tried Double Barrel next to MC.
All seats at the bar were full and they would not let us sit at one of the many empty tables because I told them we're just drinking.
So we walk over to MO and hit the Mandarin Bar for an hour.
Great view up there and very quiet.
My wife got a laugh out of the champagne bottle vending machine in the lobby.

Jean George was ok with changing my reservations to 9:45 so figured I'm set now.

What I did nor calculate was Cher starting over 20 minutes late.

Overall the show was good.
She still sounds good and looks good.
My issue is the acts between her songs during her costume changes.
They pretty much came across as just trying to fill up the time.

Got back to Jean George way after 10 and sat at the bar.

Wife had the sea bass which she orders every time we go there.
I ordered filet and both were great.
The bartenders there are good guys and always take care of us.
They are closing for a month to renovate the restaurant at the end of May.
Sounds like the changes are gonna be positive.
Getting rid of the couches in the bar area and putting in small tables.
Refreshing all the furniture and getting rid of the "bull nose" images on the walls.

By the time we left there I was half drunk(maybe 3/4) and tired so called it a night.

Continuing and sorry about the delay.

Wake up Thursday at 6am,still on EST.
I'm ready to attack and get over the bad stuff at the tables.
Friends are arriving this afternoon and Carbone tonight!!!
Can't wait for that.

Stooped at VP first and played some single line DDB.
Was not terrible but no quads and dropped a little.
On to dice and see some of the dealers I have known for a while. Still only one table open with a few players.

Get a marker and ready to go!!
ICE COLD AGAIN !!
I would feel like I'm chasing to get a second marker at such a bad table so I'm all in on last shooter and seven out.
I walk.

Decide to hit pool with wife for a couple hours and try later.
Couple drinks at pool and have lunch out there.Still seems like a staff shortage at the SkyPool in the food and beverage servers.

After a couple hours I've had enough and hit the showers.
3:00pm head back to the casino and try again.Need a win as I'm starting to dig myself into a hole.

2K marker and all that is left in 40 minutes is $450.
I grab it out of the rail and walk over to the $100 table at Blackjack.
I hit a really good shoe and colored that up at $6500 in 30 min.
Should have been more but was a little gun shy with the bad luck at dice.

Walked back to the dice table and bought my marker back. Finally a win.

Met friends at Lift Bar for some drinks and VP at 6:30.
Caught a couple Quads and I'm feeling a lot better about the casino.

Head up to Carbone at 7:45 and dinner was awesome as usual.
Rigatoni with Vodka sauce is the best anywhere.Their garlic bread is killer also.
Meatballs,Veal Parm, and another pasta were all split plus my wife had some seafood dish she loved.
Service was top notch.
Can't wait to go back.

10:30 pm go back to craps.
Bad again!
11:30 call it a night.

Friday am go to to Aria café for breakfast.
Never had the French toast there before but it was excellent.
Wife had lox and bagels:eek:.Did not ask if she liked it .Yuck.

She hit the pool when we were done and I hit the tables.
As Yogi said,Deja Vu all over again!!
Ice cold at the dice tables .This is the worst I have seen tables anywhere in a long time!
Even the dealers were commenting that they heard it's been bad.

So I took another break and walked down to the Strip for a while and finally came back and met our friends at the pool.
Ate another $75 lunch including a couple cocktails.
Decided to not play before dinner.
Reservations at Lago tonight and I wanted to get there early enough to get a table on the patio.

8pm reservations and we got to Bellagio around 7pm.Checked in at Lago and requested a patio table.
All the vp seats at the Bac Bar were full so we walked to YellowTail for a couple cocktails.
Lago texted me at 7:15 saying they could seat us outside if we showed up then.
We finished our drinks and they took us to the corner table at the front of the patio.

Friends loved the spot but due to the wind.the fountains did not go off until we were almost done.
Bummer but it's still a great spot.

Stopped at Lift Bar and squeezed in for a couple drinks,it was packed.
After the vodka, wine with dinner,Port after dinner,I was pretty much done.Called it a night about 12:30
