St.Vince may have some influence in getting the trophy back to Green Bay after it was so rudely handled by those ex-patriots...

If a team player is the play , (no bone in) I don’t see the big deal with drafting a qb, he older than most and subject to injury. Play well and show them the improbable wasn’t probable; stop whining about YOU. It’s killing me in all sports as to the “ME”, what about me.....done and exiting the box of soap.

Good article about the Wentz trade in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Eagles sunk five draft picks and nearly $80 million in paychecks into Carson Wentz. In return, they got zero playoff wins, zero Day One draft picks, and three years of Wentz-related drama and strife. Wentz will count about $33 million against the Eagles’ 2021 salary cap, crippling the team and creating a hole at the most important position.

That’s indeed a hell of a lot of resources invested into one player. Is it all worth a Super Bowl Victory? Who knows, but I doubt they would have won it without his play in the regular season. Still, interesting to think about.

Here is another article about Wentz and his performance during the season. It’s a month old, but it’s a good analysis of what happened. I am not a fan of the owner, Jeff Lurie, a rich boy from Boston who had his mommy guarantee his bank to buy the team from Norman Braman. I think he meddles in the team, but I guess after a couple years of signing the big checks, one becomes an expert on talent.

    Good for him!

Not buying it. Bezos wants to outshine Musk in rocketry and put people permanently into space. If Elon were to buy an NFL team then maybe Jeff would be interested. Also think Snyder will outmaneuver Smith whose son is now the Atlanta Falcons' head coach. In my opinion, Washington is only a decent QB away from being competitive and doubt Snyder wants to give up now. Rivera took a bad franchise (Carolina) to the Super Bowl so he could do it again in Washington.

So true. That division is truly terrible right now. Even if Dak comes back the Cowboys have a lot of work to do to right the ship. No reason why Washington, with the right QB, couldn't be competitive in the NFC East for a few years.

Seems like a knee-jerk reaction to the Rams acquiring Stafford. I thought Watt fit better in GB or Buffalo where he could possibly win a title. But he went for the money and the location. $23 million guaranteed will buy him the best mansion in Scottsdale where his kids will enjoy great weather and he can spend the off season on the golf course. But, IMO, he's on another team that will never challenge for a championship. Odds on him sustaining an injury that will put him out for 6-8 games is like 8-5.

The NFL is very businesslike in it’s approach to money management. Owners cannot collude but you know when you’ve got to invest in a player. How much value does a super bowl have? Once determined one one can proceed with some confidence.
Egos seem to drive the bargaining and they are just beating one another up.....maybe in all sports but the NFL does it wil it out guaranteed contracts......
Not a bad model but when is 1/2 a billion enough?

very interesting to see IF nfl releases this years cap number today.. IF they don't this will move , cap tags, free agency back a day or two.

plus half the league is over the cap and in serious trouble.. some like the saints are 63 million over the cap.

I've completely missed all the drama around Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.
Need to see how big of a deal it actually is.
