Best WR duo in the NFL? 17 receptions , pretty good.
After today's game, now all entries need to make a pick for Sunday's or Monday's games.
Before the week 12 picks, a few moments with Andy Rooney about how in 1977 a situation comedies treated sports gambling.
Did you ever notice how a situation comedy in 1977 treated a serious situation like sports gambling and bookies?
Yet every problem about the subject is fixed in a 22 minute span.
Ya ever notice?
Back in 1977, the ABC situation comedy Happy Days (I still call it The Fonzie Show since every time this fictional character appears in the 1st scene, he gets a big rounds of applause)
Wouldn't that be nice when you appeared at your job and all gave you a big rounds of applause?
It would give you that felling of being wanted.
But if you wanted to be different on what you watched, NBC had Ba Ba Black Sheep (what no have you any wool included in the title?)
My network CBS, well we got killed in that ratings time slot of 8-9, and they tried so many programs well it's just not worth going into details.
We kick ass on Sunday night on the ratings from 60 Minutes!
The Happy Days episode was called The Last of the Big Time Malphs.
The synopsis: Novice bookmaker, Ralph Malph, loses his shirt on a football game and must face his father to avoid the fists of a street tough named Bruiser.
Basic story is Ralph becomes a bookie and starts selling football betting cards where 3 for 3 for the week gets 10 to 1. (do ties win or lose?)
Ralph starts making money hand over fist on money and has beautiful women by his side since no one getting 3 for 3 on the football cards
Until one Sunday a teenager named Bruiser (OOOH) wins 80 dollars and wants his money or he will beat him up in Fonzie's office in Arnolds where the GB Packers games are aired.
But Fonzie stops Bruiser from beating up Ralph (YAY FONZIE! Applause!)
Bruiser is in a rush for his money. 24 hours or else Ralph is beaten up!
Ralph, you should have not hired those women from the escort service to walk with you at Arnolds!
Our other hero in the show, Richie Cunningham talks to his Dad Howard Cunningham Ralph's tale of woe.
Ralph's a bookie , cannot pay 80 dollars and needs to run to Daddy?
Howard decided to visit Ralph's Dad Howard Sprague oh I'm sorry Mickey Malph about Ralph's problem.
Ralph enters, tells his Dad about the issue and Ralph's best line when discussing the problem is: Dad, I'm A Teenage Bookie!
Ralph's Dad says work two nights in his office to settle the debt.
But no more bookmaking!
All settled in 22 minutes (30 with commercials to pay my salary)
Going to be a lot of unhappy bettors at Al's next week!
Maybe Al Delvecchio, the owner of Arnolds can take over the bookmaking business.
But Officer Murray Greshler from The Odd Couple could break up the gambling ring!
Nah, he's a bumbling cop and would mess up!
That's how the number one treated sports gambling and bookmaking.
Eyerolling isn't it?
I'm Andy Rooney.
I'm Mike Wallace.
Tune in next week for another edition of 60 Minutes.
Now stay tuned for the Week 12 Super Contest picks coming on this message board.
Super Contest 26-27-2
Fake Circa 26-26-3
Indianapolis -2.5 (Same Circa)
Tampa Bay on the road has been a blessing to ATS bettors according to the Covers.com closing spreads.
However the last two games have been nail bitters Houston & San Francisco.
No hook on the game would have meant two pushes on those games.
VSIN says that post bye games for Indianapolis, the last 18 they are 13-4-1 ATS and 14-4 SU
Pretty, Pretty Good!
Now some more good for Indy and bad for Tampa Bay.
The Colts are also 25-15-3 ATS before playing Tennessee
The Bucs are 0-7 ATS before playing the Panthers.
Hopefully, the does not come back to bite me.
Along with the play of Gardner Min-Min MINSHUE! (It's the Chris Berman way of saying his name. As if you are about to sneeze.
Pittsburgh -1.5 (Circa -1)
Hey Beavis, I see that Cincinnati is 4-0 SU vs the NFC West and 3-0-1 ATS
Would you happen to know how Cincinnati is in their own division and conference?
Well Butthead, THEY SUCK! THEY SUCK! THEY SUCK!
Heheh he he he heheheh cool!
Settle down Beavis!
You're a dumb ass!
Now I gotta tell them this ATS and SU information stuff myself
Uh, they like have no wins nor ATS covers in their division and 1 ATS and SU win in 6 conference games.
That like sucks and stuff.
Guys thanks for trying, I'll do the Pittsburg info.
Last 25 in the state of OH playing the Bengals, The Steelers are 17-7-1 ATS in Cincinnati.
Last 7 on the road after a Cleveland game: They are 6-1 ATS on the road after playing Cleveland.
It's more of a play on how horrible Cincinnati has been in the division and confernce this year along with Burrows on IR for the remainder of the season.
Cleveland +1.5 (Same Circa)
No covers this season for Denver in their home field.
And except for the KC win at home, it's either a 1 or 2 point victory at home.
And when Cleveland goes on the road, their margin of victory or defeat has been no higher than 4 for the 2 losses and 1 and 2 points for the wins.
Expect a close game.
Reason for taking the Browns is that no ATS covers issue for Denver at home.
And right now, seeds 3 4 and 5 all have that 7-3 record KC Jacksonville and Cleveland.
Denver need help being at number 10.
Below 500 record for division and conference play is their issue.
Buffalo +3 (Circa +3.5)
Did you take a look at Philadelphia's schedule?
Monday night KC, Sunday Buffalo and next week San Francisco.
That's a brutal 3 game stretch of the schedule IMO.
Reason I'm taking Buffalo is Philadelphia IMO had their regular season super bowl win over KC Monday night.
Asking a team to be prepared after getting revenge for the Miss Congeniality award that you received in last year Super Bowl.
And then getting yourself physically and mentally ready, to me that's asking a lot!
Team has a 2 game cushion over San Francisco in the loss column.
A loss here is a non division non conference loss.
And if Philadelphia beats San Francisco next week, it's Philadelphia Freedom from any tiebreakers with the 49ers!
And give them peace of mind most other NFC do not have.
A perfect conference record.
Buffalo is also in that 8th seed in the AFC.
Have a win, possibility no longer outside looking in after week 12.
Las Vegas +9 (Circa+8.5)
Not thrilled that Crosby is doubtful to play Sunday vs. a division team.
Had Miami last week and just could not believe they could not cover at home where they have been kicking ass.
However, losing two fumbles and third down conversion 3-11 for Miami did not help their cause in keeping drives moving for a -13.5 line.
And that Monday night game KC played with Philadelphia.
Really KC WR's?
You cannot hold on to the ball?
You related at all to Charlie Brown who cannot catch a baseball or my main main Nelson Agholor, the king of dropping passes in today's NFL?
It's pretty much the same story with Kansas City that I had mentioned with Philadelphia.
Except for the Sandra Bullock film Miss Congeniality
Remember too, KC needs to fly to the west coast on a short week.
Not to repeat what I posted last week, except there will be some modifiactions from last weeks post:
KC played Monday night.
And are short a day off a emotional game.
Both the Chargers and Jets played Monday night in week 9.
Both teams played on the west coast on Sunday and both teams lost in week 10.
Denver played in Buffalo week 10.
Denver won, but did not cover against Minnesota week 11.
So the LA Chargers NY Jets Denver Broncos have all played a game on the east coast on a Monday night.
And the following week they lost ATS.
Yes, Kansas City is a mid west city.
But it's the short week then going to the west coast syndrome I'm using to pick Las Vegas.
And Las Vegas is 5-1 ATS in Las Vegas.
Pretty Pretty Good!
No music video this week.
The late Andy Rooney commentary took up the video side of the write up.
Make lots of money betting this week to purchase that Festivus Aluminum pole before the brick and mortar retailers along with on line retailers run out of them on cyber Monday!
The Andy Rooney read was great, @archie1959. I obviously never was aware of it. Do you know roughly was the date that Rooney made that segment?
Sunday's and Monday's Games.
@tringlomane That was me pretending to be Andy Rooney.
Tried to put a real Andy Rooney commentary bus CBS controls copyrights on the link.
It was about sleeping.
Which QB are you riding with on Sunday?
Dolphins LB Jaelan Phillips suffered a torn Achilles, HC Mike McDaniel confirms.
Well done. I never watched "Happy Days" much, so obviously fooled me. Lol
@tringlomane Smart person on not getting hooked on show.
IMO show went downhill after Chuck Cunningham was written out of show.
Might have been season 2.
Jokes would go around on milk boxes having his image along with have you seen Chuck, he is missing on the carton.
Show after Happy Days was Laverne and Shirley.
If you've ever seen Lucy and Ethel together on I Love Lucy, that how they were on the show.
The ladies were single Laverne and Shirley, so without Ricky and Fred you get the idea.
Yet those shows were number 1 and 2 for many a season.
However I did find Chuck.
He was in one of those horrific sequels to Death Wish.
Gavan John O'Herlihy was his real name.
Died in 2021 age of 70.
Manny Fraker was the character.
Leader of a gang of thugs.
This is him
Drum roll, please...My week 12 picks are in. Currently 20-10 ATS on this board for the season.
I absolutely loved Green Bay on Turkey Day but never got around to posting. So, anyway, I also love the Jaguars -1.5 to go into Houston and beat the Texans despite how much respect I have for Ryans and Stroud. I just think Jax is a little ahead of them—both teams will be nails next season.
On the contrary, I have zero respect for the Rams. They sold their soul to the devil a few years ago to win it all, and now they are suffering. I'm taking Arizona +2.5 (the Cards have not played badly since Murray came back). I think they pull out a divisional win or at least cover the spread in their building.
Finally, I've been feasting on the LA Chargers all year so I see no reason not to pick against them again this week. Very surprised Baltimore is only -3. That worries me a bit—I guess it's a road thing, but there will probably be just as many Raven fans in SoFi tomorrow than Chargers' fans (are there any Chargers' fans?).
Circa top 5
LA Rams Pick
Andy on Thanksgiving.
Chuck Cunningham gets blown out of a window with a rocket launcher. Should’ve stayed in Wisconsin.
You can't Sauce the Cheetah!
Sunday's and Monday's Games.
Separate names with a comma.
