It was my first time ever making tomato soup from scratch, lol. I'm fairly certain I screwed something up somewhere, probably should have added more broth and busted up the tomatoes a bit more. Though as a soup made specifically as a sandwich pairing, it was actually pretty good.

Many thanks! It'll get in order.

Funny, my mom went to university in Hamilton (McMaster) in the late 1970s/early 1980s and she loves the idea that I'm thinking of moving there. She hasn't been much since and has been super curious about my findings from visiting. Like you, she is very confident it has changed a lot, though save for the lack of a manufacturing industry now, I don't think too much has.

Toronto has turned into a wasteland of artificiality, if it weren't for my friends and family who live here, you could not pay me enough to continue living here. I've spent most of my 26 years living here, and it's very clear to me that the city has done a nosedive in the past five years, and it's irreversible at this point.

As you know, I'm a pretty low-roller... though any gaming I do wind up doing, I'll likely do on the NY side, and primarily for the free drinks. Playing $0.50 bonus poker is way out of my league :)

Getting to/from Seneca... I'll be walking as I'm going during the day (arriving early afternoon, crossing to NY side for the afternoon and for dinner, then back to Ontario). Looks to only be a ten minute walk from the bridge, so I'm not terribly bothered. I happen to love Indian food, and there are a ton of Indian restaurants around there, so going on foot will suit me for getting there too.

Maid of the Mist... that's GREAT info. Will definitely be doing that. Thank you!

Oh if you’re doing the maid of mist and crossing the border you probably know this but do it in NY, much less tourist. That is unless it’s changed in the past couple of years due to people scared to cross the border and not being able to get back into the US.[/QUOTE]

You must go to the US side for the Maid of the Mist.
The Hornblower Cruises run the trips on the Canadian side.

PS NFC, if your are into "Gentlemen's Clubs", check out the Sundowner in NF. Better than any Vegas clubs.

Fuuuuuuuck. I'm meeting up with a long-distance flame for drinks after the concert. As adventurous as she is, there's no way she'd go for it if I suggested we go there :)

That's a good reference to have though, for the next time I hit Niagara.

We'll just miss each other! I'll be in Niagara Falls next Monday-Friday with family and friends, we're planning on hitting the Fallsview casino one night next week. I'll warm up the slots for you (i.e.: they'll probably take all my money so then you can win it back on Saturday).

NFC, if you are in the Hamilton area and want to try and connect to have a coffee or a beer reach out. I live in Burlington. Having lived in Toronto, Brampton, Hamilton and now Burlington I can 100% understand the desire to leave the Toronto area. Best of luck in your search.

There is a good chance we’ll be at Fallsview Saturday night. Happy to meet up for a pint.

Any questions about Hamilton let me know. I went to MAC and my office has been Burlington for 20 years! I’m a generation ahead of you but, I hear things....

Lots of TO people have moved to the Hammer but, the real affordability train left the station a couple years ago. It does have a hip/raw vibe still. We of course took it one step further and moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake- neither hip nor raw but, works great for us ...not so much for a millennial:)

Ha a kid I had working for me fromNew York said all the hipsters in Brooklyn where having the same complaints that NFC raised. The new cool place to move was apparently Cleveland. If Cleveland why not Winnipeg.

Next time making grilled cheese use mayo instead of butter on the bread. My wife is a grilled cheese fanatic and when I made the switch to mayo she loved it.

You did a nice job on the grilled cheese NFC. Funny, because days ago I was going to tell you to keep the flame low, wish I did lol.

I also learned that instead of buttering the bread, put a little mayo on it to get it nice and crispy. Makes a big difference.

EDIT: Mark beat me to it by 2 mins LOL

    Same floor as regular check-in.

To be clear, you don't check in at a desk, you're greeted by someone as you get out of the limo, who escorts you to your suite and checks you in there on a tablet. So basically you go Limo > Valet area > Suite. I didn't set foot in the Sky Suites front desk or lounge area until the late afternoon after I checked in.

As this trip is over and not NFC's personal blog, I'm going to go ahead and close it to comments.
