Kady is gone too? She started this thread exactly two weeks ago.

So, Yolla, I guess it has to be asked... what can you tell us about the host changes at the Plaza, and is this something that benefits players?

Sorry I have to put you on the spot, but it does make one wonder what is going on. There are a number of people here who built up a relationship with Curtis, and poof, he's gone. And now Kady's gone. But Nathan, my host at DTG, is there, and...

What can you share about the situation?

Joe, with you being a wily Vegas veteran, I have to ask why that is amazing? Every host I've had in the last 15 years has changed properties at least once. Opportunities arise and folks move on/ promote/ leave the industry/ move to a competitor for higher compensation etc. I don't see it being a big deal at all. Business as usual.

While I don't think it's "amazing" that Kady just left. it does make you wonder what's going on over there to lose two hosts (out of what, 5 or so?) within a couple of weeks of each other.

I guess I have had a different experience at MSS. I've had the same host for the last 15 years. The other two hosts have been there as long, if not longer. I haven't experienced turnover, so to me, it's amazing.

The D, Golden Gate and Downtown Grand experienced the same recent turnover in Casino Hosts. Small shops with new faces.

A March madness party is a great idea. The "D" gets tons of action from offering a MM party with its own crap tables and Black jack tables. They post a March madness discount on the March madness in as Vegas (MMILV) FB site. Many folks who enjoy March Madness get turned off by the strip hotel/party prices and the "D" offers them a good alternative. I gotta imagine that the Plaza has more space available, than the "D", to put on a nice product and 1,000's of folks will be in Vegas next year for first day March madness and St Paddys day (both are March 17th). Ive done the CET "Hoops on the Strip" thing for the past 4 years (only because it is comped), but I'd be interested in seeing the product that the Plaza puts out. The MM party at the "D" has got to be 1 of their best marketing ploys of the year!!

And Yolla...kudos for you taking the time to talk with VMB folks. That is rare on these boards (Hunter from CET is the only other that comes to mind)

Nah, I just put it down to people finding "better" jobs and moving on. In Kady's case I would assume she probably put in many job applications at different casinos and took the Plaza job when offered but possibly moved on to another casino when got a better job offer or possibly got an offer for a strip host or something.

I see it all the time with dealers and pit critters, usually they start working at the downtown or off strip properties and when they get more experience they move on to the better paying or better tipping strip properties.

I'm very happy to report that I met with Yolla and she set me up for Nov. trip. Place was the busiest I've seen in quite sometime due to the life is beautiful festival. What was also nice is that she knows my friends from the Gate. The Beer Garden was also busier than I've ever seen. I post about it the thread I started earlier, but do want to mention that it was a very enjoyable experience. So many beers to try, great fun. Yolla, thanks again, think I might have found a new home base.

The thing I don't understand is if someone leaves a job and has a business email why no one else picks up those emails. There may be something really important there which needs attention and the sender has no idea it has not been received or read. Maybe I am just too efficient!

Ya, that makes me wonder too. Now I'm no techie but if you're sending an email to an employee at a company address, you would think it would bounce back to someone else at the company taking over their accounts.
