I’m headed out to Vegas June 7th. I have never beat on sports before but want to give it a shot. Can anyone give a newbie some tips? Do you have to bet on an underdog to win any money? Or put a lot of money down?

    Thanks for the tips.

Bryan you can bet as little as $10/game for 3-4 hours of entertainment. Just go to the window tell them what you want to bet on,, how much,, and you'll be good to go... leave a tip if you want drink tickets....like any other form of gambling it's hard to go into detail with one post....

I was a newbie last time to sports betting

    Things I learnt:

Theres usually like a wall full of paper slips for different sports that will give you odds and you have to fill in and take to the desk.

Everyone was super helpful I asked the guys at the desk what was the best type of bet to pick. I only put about $25 on so I dont think I was elligable but others talk about getting drinks vouchers when you bet? I will have to look out for them next time.

You can go as low as $5/game some places.

I put on my first sports book bet last time in Vegas. If there is a bet on the display that you like the look of just take note of the 'bet number' then go to the desk and say "$10 on 492" for example. I put a parlay on (acca here in the UK) and just said "$10 parlay on 123, 456, 789." Really simple.

My biggest tip is: if you bet on baseball, you'll have better chances betting the 1st 5 innings, especially if it's a parlay!
