New Orleans - Harrahs? Marriot or Sheraton one night

Assuming you are going to spend some time in the casino, I would go with Harrahs. It is across the street and has a tunnel if weather is bad.

harrahs all the way, even the base room is 100 times better than Sheraton or Marriott...now if harrahs wasnt in the choice, even though Marriott now own Sheraton, the Sheraton rooms are bigger and all around nicer than Marriott...they are right across the street from each other...what I have found out is Sheraton if using debt card for room hold will release it as soon as you check out, as with harrahs, I have had Marriott hold it for more than a week and had to call them on it

also a side note, as I found out first hand with Sheraton, not sure what it takes for them to charge you if something goes wrong, but had a bad situation in the room and left, and they never charged me and I got my room hold back too, lol

stay at harrahs and it will ruin you for any other hotel in the city, but so worth it

Staying at Harrahs will spoil you...the other two hotels are virtually next to the FQ, but that's not enough to offset the quality and service of Harrahs, IMO.

Having stayed at both, I would rank them this way.

Harrahs - Remodeled room only
Sheraton
Harrahs - non remodeled room.
Hyatt Riverside (used to be an option)
Marriott (oldest and most worn as of a year ago) very nice lobby, bar, and restaurants on site. Easiest access to French Quarter

If you plan on spending a lot of time in the casino then staying at Harrahs is a no brainier, otherwise the Sheraton is more convenient to the quarter.
