NC Governor signed sports betting bill into law yesterday. Allows sports betting only in tribal casinos, currently the only two are Harrah's in Cherokee and Murphy. No online sports betting allowed anywhere else in NC.

Interesting, so how will they ensure people aren't using their smartphones on sites like BetOnline, 5Dimes, Bovada, etc.
Also - does this mean no Draft Kings as well?

that's ridiculous. Our casino is in the middle of nowhere, tight machines, no comp'd drinks, etc. I can fly to Vegas quicker than i can drive to cherokee.

Our state should allow sports betting throughout the state.

If you think NC is dumb just know that NY is doing something similar with a much bigger market size and competition from NJ.

I assume you need to have location services activated on your phone for the apps to work. If you are in a location that does not allow mobile gambling then your app will not work. Just a guess.

I was just at CET River Valley. The host told me that the sports book should be open around 10.1.19. I do not know, nothing was done yet in the area of the sports book except the current bar stays.
