So after a long run at the Tez time to look around. I was going to try the Grand on this trip. What is the difference between the Delux and the Premium rooms at the Grand? One thing that is a deal-breaker is I need a fridge for Medicine I must have. The price is about 14 a night difference. I am not rated at the Grand might call and see if they will match the Tez. But for now, just looking to see about rooms.

Other notes that might not matter this is a solo trip going to be there from about December 21 - 27 but dates are not 100 Percent. Looking for a new home hotel. In the summer I lead a group of 16 people ages 22 to 45 to vegas. They want a pool.

I would explain to them that I have a prescription that REQUIRES me to have a refrigerator, and ask them to provide one free of charge.

The ADA is pretty loose on explaining “reasonable accommodations” for a person with a disability. Some say it would requires a comped refrigerator. Others would simply say that they cannot charge you extra, beyond what a non-disabled customer can be charged.

I would point out to someone in management that I was searching for a new home for my group trips, and comping the refrigerator would reflect well on their property in the future.

They will exert every advantage to get your $$, so I would not hesitate to use such leverage on them.

    YMMV

I'm checking in Wednesday and have requested a room with a refrigerator for my insulin. I put the note on my reservation that I needed it. Every other place I have stayed at in Vegas has been cool with providing one free of charge. Last time I stayed there I had my IceMule full of ice when I checked in because I was moving over from NYNY for my last two nights, so I didn't need it and didn't ask. My premium King did not have a refrigerator. While it's usually not a problem to get the fridge, my experience at other hotels has been you have to wait on maintenance to come and bring it to your room. That can take quiet a while if they are busy.

Btw I highly recommend the IceMule for traveling with medication that has to be kept cold. It's about the size of a backpack, 100% leak proof, fits under the seat in a plane, and will hold ice for about two days. Saved me many times when traveling places and checking in late or simply just couldn't get a refrigerator.

If I can remember, I'll let you know on Thursday. If I forget just shoot me a message.

The Premium rooms have a space just before the bathroom that serves as a vanity. It was probably my favorite thing about the room. The pics @bull0120 posted I don't think show it, otherwise very accurate depiction. I really like the City Suite there and that was my typical room when I used to stay there. Overall, for downtown, you can't go wrong room-wise.

So I just got back from the Downtown Grand. Like I thought, I was able to get a refrigerator for no extra costs for my medications. You have to be in the room when maintenance brings it up for you, so I waited until the next morning since I had my cooler and wanted to get to the casino. No problem at all the next morning, they had it to my room within 20 minutes of calling down to ask for it.
