New FreePlay rewards now have a restriction - The reward may not be combined with any other mLife rewards offer (and yes, MV free rooms, comp rooms, rooms with Food/Bev etc are all evidently considered an mLife offer from what the group Admins were told).

This from one of the approved groups:
Mlife has changed the terms of the FREEPLAY rewards. You are no longer able to use FREEPLAY rewards on any room booked on an Mlife offer. This restriction includes free rooms, Mlife discounts, food and beverage offers or FREEPLAY offers. This was the only way mlife would allow Playstudios to keep the FREEPLAY rewards in the reward inventory.

They are still waiting for some clarification as to whether or not certain discounts like smartervegas etc offer are restricted (since those direct you to the mLife website) & a few other questions that have arisen.

This destroys the game's value for me. I had bought chips at it opened up additional rewards that brought increased value (freeplay and two night stays specifically). Ouch.

I enjoyed it but I doubt I'll continue playing. Definitely done with chip purchases. I'll get into that spot many of y'all are in- stuck with too many gold coins and nothing to use it on.

EDIT: Any word on when this will be implemented?

Are you sure this is correct? It doesn't indicate anything like that when you try to get the reward. It does say that for Mandalay Bay which has been the case for a while now but so far that was the only one.

I just checked the Mirage Free play, and after the blackout dates its does state, "This reward may not be combined with any other M Life Rewards offer."

Damn, you're right. I swear I didn't see that there when I made my post (I did look). But either it wasn't there and is there now or I just missed it. I rarely used to get anything other than the freeplays. Now I don't know where I will spend on my LP's.

Thanks Jgate! Very informative. I guess I'll just be using MyVegas for food vouchers. Hope they don't add caveats on that next :(

    Immediately.

This new rule completely defeats the purpose of the reward, the only way you can get free slot play is to pay extra for your room than the actual FP is.

I have seen it brought up over and over that MLife and myVegas are totally separate. So how are MLife rewards (whatever mlife rewards are) and myVegas rewards the same thing?

They are totally separate. The other is a Facebook based game run by a company called Playstudios, the other is a MGM casinos' players club program. However, they have a partnership where PS provides it's users with all sort of rewards that they can use at Mlife. MyVegas or Playstudios doesn't have their own rewards, they simply provide their patners' rewards.

So a "MyVegas comp room" is something you go to book at Mlife.com, a buffet reward you go to pick up at Mlife desk, show rewards are either booked by calling Mlife or at mlife.com. Every single MGM based reward from MyVegas is "an Mlife reward". But also in addition to that there are "Mlife rewards" that aren't from the game but players can obtain directly from Mlife, such would be every single personal offer based on gambling, any offer with resort credit, any offer with free buffets per stay etc.

In a short version every MGM reward from MyVegas is an "Mlife reward" but not every Mlife reward is a MyVegas reward. Hope that makes any sense.

Now I get it, MLife reward as opposed to Wolfgang Puck Reward or Hexx reward.

So glad I "broke the spell" with MyVegas.

Certainly not worth my time and hasn't been worth it for while. Yet, I still have a mountain of golds. Wish I could transfer them to someone who still plays this thing.

Interesting thread, which has taken me a few reads to (I think) understand. We booked an MLife 'offer' for next month ... basically a reduced rate (still expensive as it includes a Friday).

A few weeks ago, I redeemed the MyVegas $25 Free Play. My wife redeemed hers today, after reading this thread.

So, will be both be told we can't use? Will mine be OKas it was redeemed earlier? I guess we'll see when we visit the MLife desk (we also have a couple of food redemptions).

You may be able to use them. I know in the past I have used rewards that were either modified or no longer available and they were honored under the terms that were in place at the time of purchase. You may want to contact myVegas customer care to confirm.

According to one of the Facebook groups the new rules are in effect regardless if you've booked under the old rules.

Then again Mlife desk reps might not even have the new rules yet, anybody's guess really.

If I book the room under an MLIFE offer (comped room and FP and FB) in my name, will the new rule allow my husband to cash in the MyVegas freeplay?

I think this may have the reverse effect that MGM wants - at least for me. Last trip I took a discounted room at Aria over a free room from CET in large part because it allowed me to use the freeplay offers in MyVegas. This makes me much less likely to stay or gamble at MGM properties.

I stopped playing MyVegas actively several months ago - although I still log in everyday just to collect chips. I have over 2M gold chips and very little to spend them on. I find a way to use a few each trip but not enough to ever get rid of what I accumulated. Hoping they come up with something more worthwhile in the future. Otherwise like said above - I wish I could transfer them to someone who could use them.

I received amazingly quick reply from MyVegas (a couple of hours). Here's the reply:

If the terms and conditions state that the reward cannot be used with an MLife deal, then they won't let you redeem.

I've looked through all the 'Terms and Conditions' on both of our email redemptions. Nowhere can I see it state anything about an "MLife offer" conflict.

I guess we'll what the MLife people have to say ....
