I don't quite understand why some people so obsessed with CET's diamond lounges in Vegas.
Even for a super frugal person as myself, I only visited once, and once is too many.
IMO, the free drinks and snacks are not worth the time waiting in line.

I contacted Founders Card people a couple months ago to get a feel for it. They definitely don't want me to sign up just for the Diamond Card status, so they have me on their "iffy" radar. Eeek!!!

Those charts only list benefits nationwide. Since line cuts for Platinums are market and property specific, it may not be over. I would wait for a live report saying they are gone in Vegas over going by that chart. And if line cuts in Vegas are gone, I will be fascinated to see how CET sells the tier to people going forward.

Agreed. Like I said, I hardly use this feature - only for buffets based on waiting times or how much I drank (munchies) or how hungry I was....

Another thing I noticed, when going to the cashier using the Platnium/Diamond line, they never asked for the TR card... so they clearly didn't care to check. Then again, when it's busy as F, they probably just want to hurry people out.

You saying that the Diamond status might be a goner in 2018 for FC? I also like the Hilton Gold status, but if the Diamond benefit is gone, so am I. And I imagine a fair number more!

No, they will not accept me as a member if I am only signing up for the Diamond status and nothing else.

I actually love the idea of being able to bring in an additional guest even if it costs 1000 RC. Before this as a diamond, I could only bring in one person.

I had to give them some BS story about how I found other benefits (true story), but....... yeah, I'm on the iffy radar

depends on the property, some places do look to see if it is the right card for the right line...havent had them look at the expiration date or match it to my ID but they did want to see that it was a diamond or 7* card when I was in line

each year the contract is renegotiated and although unlikely, yes it may not be available

you could always bring extra guest in, depending on room capacity...you just had to ask for a pass or ask your host...hell ive brought 9 people in once, plus myself without a pass or host approval

In Vegas, I go there for a break from the casino and better quality alcohol and sometimes I go for the hot food. I travel to Vegas a lot by myself and I stop in for free food and drink instead of going to a restaurant. Sometimes with a friend, we will eat our dinner in the diamond lounge to save money for a more expensive meal a different day. It isn't the best food but I like chicken wings and sliders and pasta and baked chicken and chili. Those are just a few items I remember from recent visits to Vegas. At home (Arizona), my local CET casino has a menu with lots of really great food options in the diamond lounge so it is pretty good to eat there.

Hmmm- why would they care? They get their money, so what difference does it make why you sign up. I am sure most members signed up because one benefit interested them above the others! Frankly, many of the benefits are quite esoteric and have no interest to me. Diamond status was the reason I anted up and joined. But I'm glad at least they didn't indicate the DL benefit was waving bye bye. Their website indicates currently that it's valid through end of January 2018.

I’m a 7*. Based on just carryover bonuses for 2018, I will already be diamond, probably with 25k+. I’m considering just totally abandoning my play in Atlantic City with CET. I don’t see much point. I will take all the freebies and free play until my offers run dry. Then, only visit on multiplier days. I plan to move all my play to the Borgata and Trop.

I wonder how many other 7*s feel this way.

Probably close to the same number as the top players of Borgata/Trop who feel that their current casino doesn't appreciate them enough. Every industry/company, even Amazon, have churn.

If you do that, they'll still win. If you're moving your play, then what good are the extra points? My unsolicited advice? Book your comped room, only play at Borgata or Trop, and once those comps bump in, don't go back, not even to burn comps...until they deliver an enticing "we miss you" offer. Then burn that. Kill it, if you must.

can we confirm no more free shows for diamond members?

edit: I notice it wasn't listed on the 2017 page either, so maybe the free shows still exist. I would be very surprised if they got rid of this

i literally just asked daryl at 7*insider about this yesterday and he said they are still available

i remember seeing them in previous years but not now, he said

"They'll still be available after 1/31/18.

There's really never been anything published about these tickets -- maybe it's hidden on the TR site.

    Darryl"

That's never been a documented benefit, at least that I'm aware of, and probably because it's specific to a particular market. To a much lesser degree, kinda how they don't tout free beach chair & umbrella rentals, as it mainly applies to AC.

In some ways they are making it easier to get diamond and the lounge. I posted a thread about the new 1k a night promo for paid rooms at any CET property that has a $20+ rate a night through March 31. Then there quest for Rewards.

Also there's the quarterly step goals to maintain lounge access. I don't see lounges getting any less crowded.

Part of me understands why they got rid of aspirations. 40k would be easy for me this year with the promos and same or less play. I might have gotten to 80k. I won't get 7* regardless.

I can see promos having the wrong intended effect on me. I haven't planned things out completely yet, but I'm considering using promos to play less and get to 25k. I'll then give way more play to other properties in Vegas, AC, Philly, Maryland and the Midwest than I would have had they kept aspirations, had fewer bonuses, or just left things the way they were.
