    My Trip Report

So we are about 20 mins from hitting the road. Got a call half an hour ago from marketing at Venetian. Very chatty friendly guy, and offered us three comp nights, no resort fees to make up for canceling back in March. That’s never occurred before and may not ever again! Haha. Thinking very seriously about canceling Caesars and going with it! We will be there in a few hours. Much needed trip. Will post when possible to update the thread!

Done deal! At state line now for a quick break. Got a temp check at Primm, I’ve literally never set foot in this casino.

Wow. Was CET okay to cancel within 24h? Thought there was still a restriction...

Not a lot of distancing but Venetian is taking this very seriously, a LOT of cleaning, masks, signs etc. Got into our room and headed down to one of our favorites to eat and drink. Viva Vegas!!!

Ended up keeping our room at Caesars since it’s a full comp. Never know when we might want to just crash after some masked gambling. Super weird seeing so many places dark

    First day observations:

    Not much real distancing enforced
    Bellagio: $25 min craps tables
Good luck finding an open spot at craps with 3 per side.
The partitions look ridiculous and I wish I’d bought stock in a plexiglass company. To be continued.

Not a ton to report so far today. Slept in til 12, got to the pool at 1 and just got back to the room. It’s so windy that they removed the plexiglass separators at the bar lol. It’s packed. Every chair they have out was taken and groups of people are sitting around.

We finally made it home. Sorry for not having a ton of pics but here are the final takeaways:

We got to play craps once, for 20 minutes at a $10 Venetian table on Saturday. Every single other craps table we saw was at 6-max, had a line waiting or was a $25 minimum buyin. Freaking Harrah’s today, on a Sunday afternoon at 50 percent capacity had THREE $25 min tables going and people waiting to play. I saw in another thread how the economics of the max 6 players will affect the low roller players and it seems that is accurate.

It’s a bit eerie being out at midnight and seeing so few people and so little noise. It’s still Vegas but.. it’s also not.

inside the casinos it’s pretty packed. Venetian was totally busy, as was Caesar’s, Harrahs, Bellagio and Cosmo. I don’t think It’s any secret that people REALLY wanted to come back to Vegas.

Masks. Some casinos more strict than others. CET: required at table games, as mentioned in other threads. People are wearing them outside when nobody is around which is strange to me, but ok.

I was today years old when I realized the big monitors on the walls and the elevator displays are essentially just windows desktop displays.
We got killed at slots this trip. Down a solid $1k, although this new Wonka game at Cosmo spit out bonuses left and right to mitigate some of the damage.

    thanks for reading and commenting!

Stay safe out there if you are traveling.

@Slidey1 - How is the music volume level? If it’s 1/2 empty I would guess it should be loud but...what say you?

In the casinos it’s fairly normal, but outside on the street it’s weirdly quiet. It reminded of us of getting back to the Mirage when the shooting happened. Not many people so not a lot of human ambient sounds and there really isn’t any music or noise happening.
