Generally there is some type of security or casino worker at the entrances of each casino and if they see you walk in without a mask they will show you the mask dispenser.
Once inside there is very little enforcement. over my 5 day stay I only noticed 1 person asked to put a mask on who was playing a table game. Many people played with a mask not covering the nose or hanging off 1 ear. I never saw anyone walking around the casino or playing a slot machine get approached and I saw multiple times where security literally was 5 feet away and made eye contact with people not wearing masks but never bothered to walk over and say anything. Every restaurant I went to said once you were seated at your table you could take off your mask but if you got up you were supposed to put it back on.

All that said, the majority of people were wearing masks properly so the 5% of those who are not really stand out and you notice them.

It's not a Gaming thing, it's a state mandate. And I can say that, at least anecdotally, the majority of employees (casino or otherwise) that I come across are hugely in favor of it. Agreed that people not wearing masks indoors are the exception rather than the rule these days, at least indoors.

We went to the Carlos Santana concert last Wednesday. If you are concerned about Vegas Covid requirements enforcement, don't go to a concert at the House Of Blues. We waited in a packed bull pen area shoulder-to-shoulder for over an hour before they opened the doors. It was hot and crowded and many people either had no masks or removed them. Once seated, almost everyone removed their masks for the entire concert.

I understand that this is Vegas and if you don't like it, don't go, but House Of Blues doesn't even try. If you are comfortable in close quarters around large crowds without masks or vaccine requirements, then the House Of Blues is for you. Otherwise, I would avoid this venue until things clear up.

The concert was just OK. Santana is a great guitar player but not a great showman. He seldom looks at the crowd and often has his back to the crowd. The beginning of the show was good, the end of the show was good, the middle was ok.

I'm sorry to hear that. Live Nation announced that HOB would require proof of vaccination or a negative test, but that does not appear to take effect until after Oct 4.

It's a state mandate AND a "Gaming thing".

The NGCB has made it clear that all licensees must comply with the mask mandate everywhere on the licensees property. The board will patrol compliance, respond to complaints, and issue sanctions for violations.

Interesting about the no mask policy.
From the latest 5 Hundy Podcast they were indicating that most venues would be mandatory masks or vaccinated only and if i recall correctly the Raiders game may be for vaccinated people only.

Very true. I just meant that Gaming tends to override other policies/laws on the places they oversee.
Yep, it's some combination of both. Raiders are going to require vaccinations; VGK are going to require either vaccinations or masks. If nothing else, I think the liability risk is going to push things forward for venues. But either way, I'm personally glad we're moving into a more reasoned state of things.

At least as of last week, no plexi, and full capacity at the tables.

Raiders are requiring a CLEAR pass for vaccinations. Attendees need to download the CLEAR app and set up a profile with proof of vaccination. Masks are therefore not required inside the stadium for those who can prove their vax status with CLEAR. If you are unvaccinated when you get to the gate, however, they will give you a shot right on the spot—but you'll have to wear a mask during the game. As far as I understand it, that't it. You can't simply provide a negative test as in other venues. Great job by the Raiders.

HOB's vaccine policy goes into effect on Oct. 4. Either provide proof of vax or proof of negative test.

I had a different experience at Mirage on the floor last week. Multiple times over 3 days, once we were seated at a machine, if security walked by and you had it off (I'm vaxxed and pro-mask, but you know how it is when the drinks have been flowing... you pull it down and then forget o_O) -- they made a point to remind you to put it back on/wear properly, etc.

Now, at the pool, VP bar tops... no one cared. But they were definitely enforcing on the gaming floor.

Can anyone explain the difference between sitting at a bar, sitting at a restaurant or sitting at a machine on the floor? It seems the logic is "walking around" is the risky activity which I'd agree is solid. I wonder what logic they use to require it a machine on the floor but not a bar or restaurant? Or am I not correct on the mandate guidance?

This is not a scientific based decision. It is a reality based adjustment to the mask mandate. You really should wear it in a restaurant, but because you are eating and drinking, most places just allow you to take it off. Not an argument or opinion. Just reality.
