I tried Peaky Blinders some time back, just didn't click. I've started watching it with the Mrs., as she is partial to series programs, so we'll see how it goes.
I ran across another interesting series, sort of reminds me of the old Twin Peaks series...The Sinner.

I read Outlander many years ago.
Fast forward to 3 months ago when I watched it on Netflix.

I did NOT remember certain (very) graphic scenes that were pivotal to the plot/characters of the film version as being in the printed book.
I will now have to re-read the book now to see if they were actually in the book and I somehow blanked them (the horror) out or not.
I gave up on Outlander after the First Season.
I felt like I wanted to scrub my brain/memories clean after watching that.

As an aside.....I really, really wish somebody would convert my favorite book series of all time into a film series.

Although, I totally understand why it hasn't been done yet.

Books rarely translate well to the screen.

A recent example is The Man In The High Castle on Amazon. It bore absolutely zero resemblance to the book except for the names of the characters and just a hint the Trade Minister had a brief hallucination about an alternate universe.

You saw the uproar the end of GOT caused. All I had to do was look at the list of characters for Jack Ryan, Jr. to know I would never watch it. How in the hell can you have a Jack Ryan without John Clarke and Ding Chavez?

Both volumes of Under The Dome were fantastic. The television show sucked ass.

On and on. I like Outlander because I never read the book.

As for Peaky Blinders, I'm on Season 5, Episode 4. I love it! One suggestion, use sub-titles. I don't think even Brits can understand Birminghamese. Crime, violence, gore, sex and betrayal. What's not to like, oi?

I just started watching The Larry Sanders Show on the HBO app and it is hilarious. I always thought "Hey, now!" was just a Howard Stern thing, but, I know where they got it from now.

tiger king this documentary has so many twists and turns and real life is better than fiction stories.. it just gets weirder and deeper down the rabbit hole as it goes. amazing but I will warn you this is way out there, cults, wild animals both human and real.

We just finished season 1 last night, and afterwards I got on line to read some reviews. The Guardian mentions in a few different reviews how bad the accents are, and that even the characters can't keep them consistent from one scene to the next.

Then again, we keep subtitles on everything, just because sometimes ambient noise drowns out the TV sound (like the dog barking or a plane flying overhead) and also sometimes characters whisper or talk quietly and I don't want to miss anything.

    Peaky Blinders Season one

Tiger King: 1/3 of way into second episode, don't know how long I'm gonna last if it doesn't get going past the "he sold cats, cat's are in cages, a fence is still a cage" shit.

    Picard

Looking at Altered Carbon, might give it a shot.

We just finished Season 2 of Peaky Blinders tonight and I wasn't quite as enamored with it... Season 1 was much better. We'll stick with it, because, well... What else am I gonna do for the next month?

One question for some of you old timers... was casual sex THAT prevalent in 1922?

All those cases of VD came from somewhere.

I finished Season 5. I think it slipped a little bit.

Currently working on Wire season 3 and the last two seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I hate binging. I would rather enjoy the 13 episodes that a show gives me per year than spend all weekend on my ass and then have to wait at least 51-1/2 weeks for a new season...often longer, it seems. I've said this before, I know.

For the second time in my life I have binged a show so that I don't have to ignore all that media scrutiny of it, or the coffee talk. The first time was Making a Murderer. Now it's Tiger King.

Watch all 7 episodes, less than 7 hours of TV thankfully, in about 24 hours. Good use of a day off, eh?

SPOILERS TO FOLLOW: Who knows how things might be different, but I keep going back to the fact that it all spirals out of control as a result of the trademark infringement. Had he never pulled such a stunt, he may very well have done something else that would doom his future, of course, but clearly the trademark infringement sets off a series of events that doom the king. And I'm still convinced Carole is dirty. At least based upon the evidence presented, which isn't intended to favor her, I know.

Just got done bingeing all three seasons of Ozark. Great series and exceptional acting. But Jesus H. Christ, those last two episodes of the third season were about as depressing as anything I’ve seen in a series before. No “fun” in dysfunctional with these three families. Looking forward to season four.

I imagine that we’ll all have to wait significantly longer for all of our favorite series’ next seasons with all that’s going on right now.

I also watched “Legend” about identical twin London gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray. I had no idea until I was watching the end credits that Tom Hardy played the roles of both brothers who don’t appear that identical on the screen. Pretty good movie.

Just finished Ozark. WOW! It's was great! I'm usually one who fall asleep if something isn't thought provoking and entertaining (I slept thru half the episodes of Tiger King). Ozark is well done, great acting, intricate though provoking plot. Just amazing!

The last scene of the last episode of Season 3. WOW! I didn't see that coming! Cannot wait for Season 4!
