I like spots that serve sopes, huaraches, and tortas... or go for a place that mixes in some Salvadorian for some pupusa!

I've never looked for a spot like this in Vegas but if anyone knows of one, I'd like to check it out.

Bumping this thread again.. Looking for the best Mexican sit down.. Not looking for Tex-mex, taco stands or national chains. I've heard Don Juan, Bonito Michoacán and others recommended. I've been to La Comida and it was pretty good.

I agree this is good but, to the op, this definitely feels like a chain. Are you trying to go more off a local kinda Vibe?

Discovered this place a couple of years ago - its legit. Off strip on Desert Inn a couple of miles east of the strip. The "Original Lindo Michoacan" - mariachi band on Friday/Saturdays only (I think) and they used to have a mini bus or van that would come and get you if you have a larger group - not sure if thats still the case. We did the van thing and they came downtown to get 10 of us...

We like Mi Casa at Silverton. Been there dozens of times. Also like Nacho Daddy, but only been to the one on Sahara (?), not downtown.

Is it really a "Authentic Mexican Restaurant" if they don't serve Horchata? :)

I've been super spoiled by this Minneapolis restaurant. I go there with my
red headed cousin who speaks fluent Spanish and his Mexican wife and
two teenage daughters. They love it when I order because they only
speak Spanish at this place and I just have to sound out the items!

The Chales is so rich. This place also offers many menu items on
masa cakes. A quick glance at all the menu's in this thread and I
didn't see any of those. Neither did I see Chales anywhere else.
One place did have Beef Tongue.

All this being said I'm going to go to Nacho Daddy for the first time
    in a couple of weeks!
