I thought it was funny how they round up from $5.4 million to “almost $6 million “

If I won $5.4 million someone stating it as almost $6 million would be the last thing in the entire universe that would upset me. After all it is more accurate than if they had reported that he won "just over a buck and a half" $5.4 million is close enough to $6 million in my books - especially if it was in my pockets!

I always wonder about the logistics of the actual payout. I assume they are checking everything under the sun but also if I’m that gambler I’m definitely not interested in being visible to any human being at that point

Oh, I don't think I'd be upset. I just think it's a funny usage of the expression.

Most English language users would short hand it by saying "guest won more than $5 million dollars".

I'm sure that distinction is not on the winners mind right not but I'm not him and I didn't win the $5.4 million. :goofy:

I might be wrong on this one, but I noticed on the progressive for the 007 machine it said something along the lines of “jackpot paid out over period of x years”. I wonder if that’s the same for most mega progressives?

yes this progressive will be paid over 20 or 30 years I forget how long the WoF machines are. Or you can take cash option for, what, 40-50% of the stated value? Just like a megamillions or powerball win. Still a great chunk of change!!!

From what I’ve read, you can take the Megabucks as a lump sum for 60% minus taxes. It is overdue to hit again and up around $14.5M. I’d easily take the 60%, pay the taxes and pocket the remainder as opposed to spreading it over decades.
