A shame. I thought it was a done deal. Sounds tenuous.

It will still happen. At worst, it will be fewer teams and maybe a few missing big names.

The discussion about potential termination of the NBA CBA (if the season gets canceled) is troubling. The NBA & its players have done a tremendous job over the years to create a buzz. They seemed to be relevant throughout most of the year (even during most of last summer). I hope it doesn’t come down to that.

How does Disney feel about the NBA's favorite herb?

Until LeBron says so, they will play, I think. Kyrie Erving holding things up even though he’s still injured. Same guy who said the earth was flat.

Same guy who said he would not leave Celtics, Lebron runs the show , so they will play. Kyrie is getting slammed by everyone , watch ESPN see all the people slamming him . If the Nets were a top seed he would not be talking garbage.
He would be on top of the world. He would be saying I am going to Disney World.:woohoo:

Kyrie just wants the season to end so he can force the Nets to “add more pieces.”

They actually covered this in the 100-page special agreement.

    Will there be drug testing?

Players will be tested for performance-enhancing drugs and masking agents. Unlike normal circumstances, there will be no testing for recreational drugs. Players have been advised by the league that marijuana is illegal in Florida. It is also banned at Disney World.

I'm basically pleased with where this has landed. For the past couple weeks I was pissed at Kyrie, Melo and others who were leading the "don't play" charge. I mean didn't Melo spend the whole first half of the year begging for a team to sign him? Now he doesn't wanna play? Wha?

Then, earlier this week, I actually spent a bit of time watching some of the conversation coverage and reading some articles about it and I feel like I better understand their point of not wanting to detract from the social movement we're currently embroiled in and their perceived role in it and I respect that.

I feel like we just have to continue to climb in the direction of returning "normalcy" in some ways and the return of sports is important to me.

Their biggest platform would be to play. Sit out and no NBA, people won't pay attention. OTOH, to they want to play and talk about their POV or not play and talk about their POV? Oh, KI isn't playing anyway.

I just have to say with all the covid infections in spring football and other sports.

as huge of a sports fan I am,
    SPORTS are NON ESSENTIAL.
Just shut it down and move on

this "i have to have sports to feel normal" is idiotic. almost like hearing the crowd in the roman colossuem screaming

kill him, eat him lions. etc. etc. etc.

these are all humans with real families, I say shut it down and be done with it.

I get the feeling they might not be back to wrap up this season. Between the social justice issues & the rising Florida COVID infection rate, it’s probably too much to overcome.

I really wanted to see the NBA come back this season not only because I love pro basketball but because the NBA lead us into the shutdown. They were the first & it was prominent. It would’ve been symbolic from a recovery standpoint. Oh well.
