OK, so they do refer to it as a Shabu Shabu restaurant, but use the term hotpot for what I must assume is the wider recognition. Shabu Shabu is Japanese for swish-swish, which is how you cook your meat. Nabe is an AYCE (All You Can Eat) restaurant. It is located at 5445 Spring Mountain Rd. in Chinatown. Here is the menu I'm going to Chubby Cattle (another hot pot restaurant) with Elizabeth on Wednesday night. Two people, you get a choice of two dipping broths. My guest had one of the vegan broths, the Miso, and I took the "Nabe Signature", the spiciest broth I pretty much stuck to sushi, but there was a wide variety of vegetables and meats to choose from. The AYCE places had to change their methodology and you order servings from the wait staff and they bring them out to you. This was the meat that I ordered This was the serving of vegetables Noodles This was something "new" for me, a sashimi roll Vegetable tempura All in all a very good meal. We both left full with no room for dessert. This was the total bill I highly recommend this restaurant for a "break" from eating on the strip. It's moderately priced and has very high quality food.
