MyVegas MyVegas - Is there any value anymore

On our last trip, we used the ToK tickets as well as BOGO Pizza and BOGO Drinks at Plaza. So, still some value, but not as much as when we first used it in 2016.

I'm still looking for a cruise that works (time and location) for us, but I think that ship may have sailed (pun intended)! ;)

I received a survey from MyVegas today specifically asking about MGM rewards. I didn't hold back. It mainly asked if you valued the rewards, which ones you used recently, what you would like to see, and misc. comments.

Hey there, VIP!

We noticed you’ve purchased an MGM Reward in the past, and we’d love to hear about your experience. Your feedback helps us understand what you enjoy, what could be improved, and how we can make future Rewards even better.

This short survey only takes a few minutes, and your insights go a long way in shaping what comes next.

Best Regards,
-Your myVIP Team

Hopefully they get the message.
For me what they need is to bring back the freeplay (either dont require a stay or let me use my own comped room from play and still get freeplay).. and/or give me free food that is not a buy one get one.

As a si gle traveler myvegas is useless now. This is the first trip in a long time that I wont even step foot in an MGM property. (My vegas Konami used to pull me over and usually getting the free $25 cost me a few hundred heh )

Luckily, you and I are very similar and I left those exact comments.

Thank you to everyone who has responded. I just wanted to follow up with the rewards I used at the beginning of November.
I used the 2 for 1 at the Excal buffet. The price was over $40 but it was awful. It had been going downhill, but I think they're at rock bottom now.
I also used the one for a free appetizer at La La Noodle. It was just ok. There are better Asian places.
Like other posters have said, I'll probably still play occasionally to keep the account active.
I did receive a survey this week asking why my play had dropped off. I answered honestly, but I don't think anything will come of this.

Agreed re the survey. I basically said that my almost 10 million LPs are pretty much useless in the current program. Last April we used the Public House $40/$20 discount and a MyKonami free play.

GG

If that is what you think then you have no imagination as to the depths that they could reach:poke:

They actually just had decent black Friday sales, including free San Juan cruise, but booking window was too short and I didn’t purchase

The morning of my late October trip I checked myVegas for the free Maverick helicopter ride and there was one left and got it! Also got the free picture reward too. It cost 1,000,000 coins but have another 9 million to spend.

Just redeemed over 100K points for BOGO Excalibur brunch buffet, Van Gogh an NY NY rollercoaster day pass. Used to use many more but visit elsewhere more nowadays. My wife is unimpressed with the Bellagio brunch buffet nowadays. I should get the Plaza pizza slice BOGO. That is still a good one.

I added the BOGO pizza slice Plaza offer. I can also add the $25 freeplay for 50K points since I have a comped stay. And I added the kiddo free ticket to Van Gogh also.

Have a trip coming up for Christmas. Used a reward for 2 comp nights at NYNY, a BOGO Neon Museum trip, free beer at NFI, BOGO ticket to Aussie Bee Gees, and a BOGO buffet at Excalibur. I would say the total savings with these rewards is at least $400. So does myVegas still have value? For me, yes it does!

For anybody who has a bunch of MyVegas LPs stockpiled:

If you're Diamond tier or whatever they call it and have a MyVegas host, they can create "custom rewards" for you. I had ours convert about 2 million LPs into $150 RC earlier this year, which still left us with about 15 million LPs.

At the time, she mentioned that was the most we could convert as it was our first custom reward. Also that the value conversion is account specific and based on spend and recency of play.

All she needed was a confirmation number for our stay and she took care of the rest of the details.

In her first reply when I asked about it, she also sent along a list of gift cards you can convert LPs to. So it is possible to get the value out in various ways if you're an active player.

Here's some general info our MyVegas host sent about custom rewards:

Custom rewards can be personalized to anything you might need. For instance: entertainment, sporting events, airfare, gift cards, etc. These are NOT Vegas specific and can be used as a great option for when you can’t make it out here.

Custom rewards do take a MUCH higher amount of loyalty points than you will find in the game because they don’t come with any restrictions, limits, or blackout dates but they are great if you don’t find anything in the game. Custom rewards are quoted on a trip-by-trip basis and the value changes based on activity in the game for the last 90 days.

Keep in mind that despite the amount of loyalty points you have, we base custom rewards on your overall spend in the game for the last 90 days which determines the amount currently available.

Lastly, the value of a custom reward is account specific. The loyalty point cost on your account would be different than another hosted player due to different levels, spend, game preference, etc. For example, at this time, $150 would cost you 2M Loyalty Points (LPs)

As this is your first custom reward, THIS IS THE MAX AMOUNT OF CUSTOM REWARD I CAN GIVE AT THIS TIME. I personally do not max out custom rewards in an effort to ensure you have a buffer for in-app rewards, tournaments, and to also make sure we can give you another reward in the future 😊

I guess I haven't played in awhile. We're going for new years and we have 2 rooms, so i started playing to get the freeplay only to find out i have to book through their link to get the freeplay. Boooo

Dug this up while decluttering today.

Much like the casinos… MyVegas moved from “Here’s some free stuff! It may be total junk, but it’s kind of fun, and it will remind you of us, and on average will get you to keep playing so this promotion will pay for itself in no time!” to “Let’s quietly cut costs and make sure nobody gets anything unless it’s directly in exchange for money spent”.

A relic of a bygone era, indeed…

Seems like a lot of work. A CPA friend of mine told me that value to time is atrocious. I still play a few minutes once in a while. The rewards are also anemic these days.
