I have used myvegas LP to complete rooms in Vegas and loved it. I am looking into taking a cruise and using LPs for this. Has anyone done this and how does it work. I have heard that it is based off of regular price. I am wondering if maybe using points for on board credits is wiser than towards booking. Any info would be appreciated. TIA

Don't use LPs for on board credit. They charge based on regular price, but if Royal Caribbean has offered a regularly priced cruise in the last five years, I haven't seen it. They run a different "sale" each week, and all of them are pretty interchangeable - roughly 25-30% off regular rates. The difference would outweigh any OBC you'd get via MyVegas.

I contacted Royal Caribbean's casino department to inquire about this a few months ago, and they all but confirmed that those rewards were pointless. Not in those exact terms, but with a wink and a nod.

You can always buy the OB credit and try to redeem it for a cruise you already bought at a discount. I did that and talked them into honoring it. Extra $250 in OB credit for my labor day cruise. Worst case, they say no and you return your reward.
