There are two things that I try to do every Thanksgiving

1). Watch the classic TV episode of WKRP in Cincinnati episode "Turkeys Away". To me it's one of the funniest TV shows ever broadcast.

2). Watch the Lions lose. Unfortunately, the only drama is whether they will get blown out at the beginning, or play tough for most of the game only to snatch defeat for the jaws of victory in the fourth quarter.

Alice's Restaurant (even out here, I listen to it on WFUV at what would be noon in New York), and being thankful for another year of getting to do Thanksgiving in Vegas.

Watch the local Fox8 Turkey Bowl. Bowling with frozen turkeys and cans of cranberry sauce.

I forgot all about that episode of WKRP in Cincinnati with the turkey drop. One of the funniest episodes I've seen. :D Also, considering how bad my Bears are this year, the Lions may actually have a chance of winning. :kill:

Well, it looks like the Lions decided to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this go around.

I remember the "Alices Restaurant Massacree." Great song and not a bad movie if you like the song.
The Lions used to win a lot when I was young. Of course, I'm going on 71!

Supposedly, when the QB Bobby Layne was traded from the Lions in the late 50's, he said that they wouldn't win another championship for 50 years. It turns out that he was an optimist!

Just to prove how old I am, when I watched my first Thanksgiving Day game, I was 8 or 9. Back then the only game was the Lions and they weren't bad. Of course, that was in the late 50s, so Bobby wasn't wrong.

Thank you for the reminder, I nearly forgot to watch that WKRP this year!

My ex boyfriend and I had that on our Vegas playlist the few times we spent Thanksgiving in Vegas :)

    Seriously though, classic!

    Quality time for me!
Starting off 2022 on the right foot! Winning!

Well, you can get anything you want there (excepting Alice), what's not to like?
