    My Trip Report

    making my first trip report
    not first trip
    just first report

so i flew in fri night. southwest. uneventful. although the flight attendant SANG to the plane over the PA system after we landed. she wasn't bad and it was pretty funny
flew back sun morning. virgin america. uneventful.
    short trip
didn't have anything planned except a couple of meals with different groups of friends
so main objective was to gamble
Had a room at Cosmo, Caesars, and Palazzo so i spread my play around at those hotels (plus bellagio because I ended up there walking between Cosmo and Caesars)

i got a room at the cosmo for the first time through an offer match
unfortunately, i didn't get a wraparound terrace balcony suite thing ...
and actually only got a regular room, no balcony at first because there were none available when I checked in at 10pm
then moved to a balcony room the next day

if you're going to get a room that's not a wraparound balcony or one facing the bellagio fountain, i actually recommend taking the room without a balcony as the room itself was nicer

    cosmo non-balcony room

cosmo balcony room (looking out to Aria)

overlooking this pool. this was early in the morning. it was actually open and being used later in the day

it isn't the bellagio fountain and strip but not a bad view either

first meal was at cafe americano in caesars palace
(had to check-in for a room for my friends + dog there)
i like the food here, especially their breakfast stuff
Had a bloody mary (the bloody 'merican) which was good

this is taking longer than i thought... so i'll have to come back and finish it
    ___
started the gambling at palazzo on friday night
got free regular level suite + $500 freeplay, $200 dining credit, 2 tickets to BAZ

quickly lost the $500 free play at baccarat table
hit the ATM ... and actually walked away with a nice win and went to sleep
    [IMG]

met friends for brunch at Bouchon
    [IMG]
    VERY good food
i got the recommendation for Bouchon from this forum before my last trip

    gambled here and there
had a great solo session at a craps table in palazzo
normally i don't like playing alone but the previous full table was terrible
so i gave an empty table a shot
made back the money and then some
then my friends showed up with yard long slushie drinks in hand and we headed back to Caesars/Bellagio/Cosmo

walked past and through the Bellagio MANY times this trip
But never saw the fountain show because of timing

i made some money at caesars playing baccarat
was in for $800 at the table ... down to my last $100... and made a comeback to walk away with $1600
then i went back to cosmo and played some blackjack and baccarat... just absolutely no luck there and gave them some more money

dinner was at Momofuku at Cosmo
I had $350 dining credit to spend... so i SPENT it
bill came out to $315 for 3 people
    [IMG]
this is some truffle + tuna thing
good but wouldn't order on my own dime
    it costs $38 or so

    the famous(?) eggs? good
but again, wouldn't pay for it myself
    [IMG]
    this doesn't photograph very well
but it was a lobster + shrimp + other stuff ... very good
    $108 or so

    mussels
    [IMG]
    some noodle dish

but then again, I did pay for all this ... because I ended up losing over $4000 to Cosmo for the trip

    played at Bellagio
tried some craps, roulette, blackjack ... just wasn't having it
    donated about $1800

Wanted to gamble more but we ended up hanging out with some other friends at their room in Bellagio and drank too much
went off the strip to eat pho at 3am ... crawled into bed at about 430am

and save one more spot just in case

    BY THE WAY
if i want to share a video in this thread, what's the best place to host it?

    -----
So here is a short video clip... at one point I was up quite a bit... had a little over $5500 in cash plus some chips
I won at palazzo and Caesars... and gave that money to Cosmo and bellagio

I learned that it isn't so easy to "make it rain"

Going to finish the report with more photos and details later

    ___
the photo and video of money were early in the trip
so I started off very good ... was up $2500-4700 at various points
and could have even left with $2000 in win on sunday morning
but i had $2000 in palazzo chips (to keep myself from spending it earlier)
so i had to go back to palazzo before leaving for the airport ...
the roulette table quickly took back the money

so overall, i ended up losing about $150 for the weekend
which is not bad at all
and i got to stay at cosmo for the first time
but if i go again, i really want the good balcony room

Looking forward to reading more. Looks like you had an Executive Suite as your first room, which is a few levels higher than a regular City non balcony room at the Cosmo and costs more than the Terrace Studio you moved to.

I typically host on youtube. It should auto-embed here if you copy/paste the video link.

And that aria/city center night view pic is great!

Yes! That is exactly what I had
    It actually had 1.5 bathrooms
And a big dining table and "living room" area
The space and layout of the room was so much nicer than the terrace studio I moved to

But I wanted experienced a "balcony"
Next time I really want the wraparound terrace

That executive suite looks cool, must be a new room, however the balcony is the game changer in my mind. I had a wrap around looking at the fountains a few years back, it is nice, but any balcony really does the trick.

Way better than "making it drizzle" with a couple of dollars in leftover loose change! :D

Congrats on your first TR and thank you very much for sharing it with us!

if you had a fountainview terrace studio, that's quite a big jump in price to a wrap-around terrace suite...

    lol
well, it was a great meal overall
i guess i WOULD pay for it even on my own
    as a splurge meal

but i would probably hold back on the drinks
cocktails are about $14-15 each and we had 4 cocktails and 2 beers + some dessert to add to the bill

If you get a marketing offer, call and ask what room type it covers and then ask for a quote to upgrade to the wraparound, if you want to lock it in. Cosmo is good about letting you upgrade in advance. Then you can plan around it instead of taking your chances at check-in. You'd usually be able to do it at check in, they have plenty of wraparounds, but in advance I think you'd have a better shot at a prime location.

Love that place too! thanks to VMB recs.

That's becoming a theme for us at Cosmo - love the fountainview terrace and food, but cannot break the code on a win there (slots).

Enjoyed your pics and TR and hope you do another in the future.
