My First TR ever....

Ok, here it goes, my first TR ever! Please bear with me, I dont know how this is going to turn out.
The purpose of this trip was to get away from home of course and to meet some new people, I was goinng to go solo, but at the last minute my aunt decided to go along !

I will break it down into days: 1st night is long

Thursday Oct 9-
Left CA @ 10:30am, traffic really light and one pit stop in Baker for gas and ice, and bathroom. Got back on the 15 headed into Vegas about 2:00PM.
My first stop was Bills. I had a mini meet with Rhonda from Open Vegas! I had called and left her a message that we were going to go in the lounge and sit down, when we got inside we went to the bar and my phone rang, well directly behind us was Rhonda & her sister Karen! We sat down and did our introductions and talked abit before the Big Elvis show started, I got a phone call so i had to go out of the lounge to answer and it was Karen from Denver, telling me that her flight was a little late. ( I am meeting her @ NYNY later ). So I told her not a problem, we had just got here and started drinking and there is plenty of things to do till later!
Went back to the table, the show started and my aunt was really enjoying it! This was my 2nd time and he sang some different songs so it was cool. Well the part of the show where he needs volunteers from the audience comes up and guess who he picks? Yup my aunt, she is thrilled to go up there and I did get some pics and video. Afterwards, she recieved her certificate and I bought us all a round of drinks!.... The show ended and Rhonda took some pics of us with Big Elvis and then she ran into a friend Carol , who also is a member of open vegas, so I met some really nice people and we took pics. It was getting a bit later in the afternoon and we said good bye to the ladies and we decided to grab a hot dog & beer. We then gambled a bit in Bills, but I proceeded to lose $ 20 fast. So we decided to move on to NYNY it was about 6 PM.
We got to NYNY and Karen called and said she just landed and will meet us @ NYNY in an hour.... no problem! We already checked in our bags with the bell desk, so we went to the Lobby Bar and watched the Dodger game and I had a Dirty Martini ( STRONG!! ) after that I had a beer, feeling quite buzzed, Karen called, she is there, meet her and the rest at the Piano Bar. We walked over and I got to meet alot of cool people. We ordered some drinks and just talked abit and after a few things were taken care of, The group had decided to meet at the Foundation Room atop Mandalay Bay, Since we hadnt checked into the room yet, we told them we would meet up with them there.
We went up to the room, unpacked and freshened up a bit, then headed downstairs and got a cab over there, it was nice weather too, not too hot or cold, with a mild breeze going on. We found it right away, and gave the hostess the name and she let us through the Velvet Rope into the Elevator..... up, up, and away! Once inside we looked around, the tones and the vibe of tha place was fantastic. We found the others outside, and everyone was having a good time, we ordered some drinks , and I seen a few peeps taking shots of what I am thinking is Patron. There is a small group of gentlemen from Texas I think, I dunno I had a good buzz going on! Anyways they are talking to Karen and I am into a converstion with a new peep I met also, so then some girl I guess drops her drink and you just hear the glass break all over the patio, well that kinda stirred up some peeps to get going onto the Palazzo to gamble. We proceed to leave and my aunt and another girl are lost in the bathroom, so someone goes up to get them and then we dont know where to go, we ended up at another taxi/ limo area but it was the wrong one. So here is a bunch of us, buzzed people looking for the right limo in the parking area, it was funny, Finally got into the limo, and off to Palazzo.
Once there, we manage to get lost somehow in the ruckus and I lose Karen too, so we walk around and get a drink then my aunt decides she wants to walk to the Venetian... ok so we leave,but i couldnt find anyone and my stupid phone was dead too. We walk and walk and walk, then finally I tell her we are getting a cab. She wants to eat, so we end up at Casino Royal to get a subway sandwhich, then we sat, ate and she wanted to go back to NYNY to sleep. Well she wanted to walk and I was like um ok we walked as far as Flamingo then got a cab, once we hit NYNY we sat a slot mnachiene got a drink then went upstairs and hit the sheets!

Friday Oct 10-
I got up early 8:30am took shower , go ready and left to go run some errands, First I needed to get to a 7-11 to get a phone card since it was out of minutes or else I would have joined the group last night, who btw ended up at the Golden Nugget and had used one too many F*bombs and had to leave. Dam the Golden Nugget.... that place did that too us last year, when I won 98.00 on some penny slot and made a big scream about it ( I ws intoxicated ) and they had asked us to quiet down, I was like WTF? This is VEGAS right? well ok moving on.......Ok where was I ? oh yeah got the minutes for my phone and a huge iced coffee, and drove around some little shopping centers and went to some stores, bought a few things, and went back to NYNY. My aunt was still asleep, I told her get up lets go walk around , she did and she got ready, then she wanted to go to Luxor, we proceeded to the tram and went to the Luxor, Man that place has changed since Ive been in there last. She was starving so we decieded to eat at the Pyramid Cafe. Nice place, I was going to order the Nachos, ( they were huge ), but opted for a Prime Rib melt, Very good, my aunt had a burger. The servers were really friendle and kept my refills of ice tea coming... yes I know but I am feeling a little dehydrated today... drinks coming up!
After we walked around and went to The Flight Bar, where I ordered a flight of Bloody Mary's, the classic, the Ceasar, and the Bloody Maria! The last one kicked the buzz in,it had good tequilla and man it was good!. Afterwards headed back, she wanted to go inside the Tropicana, we did, it was empty but we found a little bank of machienes and the waitress kept the drinks coming and we each put in 20.00 and stayed there long enough to get really buzzed and having a good time, making stupid ohhh's and awww's when something would go ding , ding , ding!!!
Well it was 6:15 & we had a dinner meet @ 7PM so off to the room to shower & get ready in 40 minutes! yes it can be done!
Dinner was held at Gallaghers in NYNY, I met some fellow LVA'rs and the dinner was hosted by Karen from Denver ( who by the way is the most sweetest lady, you will ever meet ! ) I did meet alot of nice people and I am not mentioning names, because I was a bit ...ok ALOT buzzed and really everything is hazy! a few more people showed up... Vegas Rex & Pam, I wanted to meet Rex, but I was at the other end of the table, dinner I had the filet mignon with a side of Brocoli and it was very good!, I didnt have room for dessert, my aunt had clam chowder, but she wasnt feeling too well and went up to the room to change she said.... Well lots of talking and people taking photos, then I had my friend ( who lives in Vegas ) meet me there so we could hang out for a few hours. The gruop was heading out to the Foundation Room again, and I had all intentions of going there but we ended up sitting at the bar and just catching up on everything, before I knew it, it was like 230am. My friend left for home, and I was feeling no pain, so I went on a little slot machiene mission around NYNY. I was soooo drunk, that I dont remember spending so much$$$ lol, went to the room, and hit the sheets @ 530AM. My aunt was sound asleep.... she drank alot in the afternoon so she stayed in the room tonite.

Sat Oct 11-
up late ...... got ready, headed for Terribles ( I like the Cafe Bouganville ) we ate, I had the nachos.... Very big serving coudnt finish them, my aunt had huge pancakes, she couldnt finish them either. I went to get some freeplay that I had on my card, so I played that, won like 25.00 and we left. We went back to the Tropicana to see if I made the points for the Magic show.... Yup ! So we drank some more and waited for the show... It was cool, the guy made tigers appear and re-appear... I would take my newphews to this show.
We were pretty tired and it was really cold and windy, so we decided to go back to NYNY and we went to get some fish & chips and clam chowder , we took it upstairs and jsut chilled out till like 10pm and decided to go to MGM , we walked over the bridge and it was cold! I had called the some peeps, but they didnt answer, so we played a little at MGM and then headed back and stayed downstairs at NYNY, I hit a few VP machienes ,and them my aunt found a bank of deal or no deal, so 20 bucks in and sor of went on this little wining spree, while tipping the waitress to keep our drinks coming. I cashed out at like 78.00 and my aunt at like 50.00 so it was cool, had a good time we decided to call it a night about 3am. leaving for home tomorrow.

Sun Oct 12-
Got up, met my friend who let us use the room, downstairs, said our Ty's and good byes! and off to brunch in Green Valley to meet with my friend and her 94 yr old grandma, who looks like she is 60 and is still very alert, and her Memory, is better than mine, she remebered me from way back, when they lived in CA, my frriend and I used to work together , and we have known each other for about 15 yrs. So while I waited for her to get there, I stuck 2.00 in a spin poker machiene about the 3rd spin I hit four 3's all over the place, I was only betting 40 cents but max lines and I hit it for 32.00 so I cashed out right away, and we went to eat. After brunch we said our goodbyes and left.
On the way out, we stopped at South Point used the 25 freeplay WON, and we stopped at the Silverton, looked around, then on hit the road.
My aunt wanted to stop by Stateline, we hit 78.00 in a dollar slot then she hit the craps table, I think she was up like 100.00 then i just wanted to get going, left about 7pm got home around 11PM after I dropped her off.

Great trip reports; sounds like you had a blast and it must be fun to meet the people who post on the boards! I was surprised to read about the GN getting pissy when you make noise while winning - I've never seen that in Vegas...I have seen it here in Ontario Canada though.

was the flight bar in the luxor??? never heard of that place...do they also have many different flights of beer? thanks!

 

Blonde 4 ever & Breanna61 .... I found it hard to believe that GN was like that, I wasnt that loud either, it was funny because it was a penny machine that just kept hitting and we did the high 5 claps and i screamed whoo hoo and a security guard came over and said to keep it to a minimum??? Needless to say we left after that, this was back in June around 3AM.
That sucks if you cant be loud in Vegas!

Thorboy- Yes the Flight Bar is in the Luxor, they have some lounge tables or you can sit at the bar. They have a flight menu, not bad! Yes there were some beer flights, I was talking to the bartender and he almost got me to try the flights of Crown Royal, he said "those were the best" but I figured I shouldnt mix it since I was getting pretty buzzed especially after the Bloody Maria, served with Tequilla and spice HOT!

If Big Elvis gets much smaller we can't call him BE any more..lol
Looks like he's lost lots of weight since the middle of August.

I've heard a lot about the Flight Bar; gonna have to check it out next trip.
