As @alexlifeson says, 9/6 doesn't apply to every machine.

The first machine he took a pic of, the top payout is 9/5 (99.69%), but the bartop is only 9/6/5 DB (97.81%). I honestly would have played at another bar if I was concerned about return. 8/5 Bonus (99.17%+prog.) at "Rocks Lounge" for example.

Oh, ok aren’t those hard to find on the strip? Maybe Goldcoast? Or downtown?

I was wondering why I mostly see Royals where three to the Royal is dealt first over four to a Royal dealt first. I then thought it might be because three to a Royal is dealt much more frequently than four to a Royal. Also most people play for a Royal where three or four are first dealt to a Royal where they probably would not if there are only two dealt to a Royal.

The first one is usually the hardest it seems! Congrats!

FYI, the two games pictured are 9/5 Super Double Bonus to 9/6 Double Bonus. Just an FYI, long term, of the two, 9/5 Super Double Bonus is a much better paying game, ~99.7, vs ~97.9%

What are hard to find? 9/6 games? If you mean JoB or DDB, they are pretty hard to find on the Strip, yes. My point was more about that 9/6 isn't always good for every game. Particularly the one he got the Royal on, Double Bomus.

Here's a list off the top of my head of what are called "full pay" paytables (99%+ return and the highest a casino may offer) for several different non-wild games. Many of them aren't 9/6.

    8/5 ACE$ Bonus Poker
    8/5 Aces and Eights
    8/5 Aces and Faces
    40/8/8/8 All American/USA Poker
    9/7 Black Jack Bonus Poker
    35(all quads)/8/5 Bonus Poker
    8/5 Bonus Poker
    9/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe
    9/7/5 Double Aces and Faces
9/6 Double Double Aces and Faces
    10/7/5 Double Bonus
    10/6 Double Bonus Plus
    9/6 (98.98%) or 10/6 (100.07%) Double Double Bonus
    9/6 DDB Red and Black
    9/6 DDB Plus
    9/6 Jacks or Better
    12/8/5 Shockwave
    10/6 Straight Flush Deluxe
    8/5 Super Aces Bonus
    9/5 Super Double Bonus
    8/5 Super DDB
    25/6/5 Tens or Better
    8/5 Treasure Chest
    11/7 Triple Bonus
    9/5 Triple Bonus Plus
    9/7 Triple Double Bonus
    9/6 Triple Triple Bonus
    9/5 White Hot Aces

Yes 3 to a Royal is the most common conversion due to it being much more likely to be attempted than 4 to a Royal. When playing 9/6 Jacks or better optimally, the percentage of Royals by number of cards held looks like this. I'm still waiting on 1 and 0...lol

    5...6.21%
    4...30.95%
    3...39.52%
    2...19.62%
    1...3.41%
    0...0.29%

Interesting. 1st time I have ever seen these stats. Our actual results for 52 Royals(mixture of 9/6JOB//8/5BP) was:

    5...7.69%
    4...36.54%
    3...36.54%
    2...13.46%
    1...5.77%
    0...0.00%
Small sample size but we always like to compare to mathematical averages.
