That Landrys is buying three restaurants there ,Bills Burger (closed last night but I think will open tonight under a different name) Sammy D's already opened under a different name and Dos Caminos whose present status I didnt check.
Thank god they already own M&S ,my fav happy hour .
Big renovations underway at the Pool. Fascinating to watch the workmen doing their work thru the clear glass walls

That is good news, I never cared for Bill's and Sammy D's seemed to be a waste of space, plus it was never crowded. The new Burger place is called AC Burger Co. How original!

Kind of surprised that Landry's leased the space because they own the Golden Nugget. Never made it to Dos Caminos, but it looks like they have some great sunset views of the bay and saltwater marsh. It seems as if they could use a sports bar or a pub down there.

I wonder if the new Bill's will be 1 for 1 comps...Just a fancy BurgerKing to me,but reliable for food and a beer way late at night and way past that point..
I know you guys remember the Reflections café and the Deli...those were some good days before all the new construction.
Gamble a few hours, check the kiosk that night or next day and low and behold $15 or so to print out to use for food.Anywhere..ha

Can't imagine why the Pool need renovating unless to increase occupancy for the Saturday night events? So glad I'm too old to see what happens in there..
And I would not even dip my toes in that pool..

Not dissing my favorite AC place just reminiscing..:)

Bet I am older than you. My SS number only has 6 digits.

I remember way back when the idea was to provide good food at reasonable or cheap prices to keep people in house so they didnt leave. Now they lease most of the food places out and make money that way.
