My Aunt Flo ( Florence) just passed yesterday.
    A teacher, traveler,golfer, and certainly a "character" !
Born on a farm in the Catskill Mountains of NY.
    *
We were gathered for a funeral 2 yrs ago -
The ancestor plots + tombstones were all around us.
My aunt Flo tripped/stumbled in front of me, during the ceremony -
I caught her and we both looked down to see --- she had stumbled over
    her own plot/small headstone.
( birth date inscribed - no death year )
Without missing a beat - she said to me "It isn't finished, yet ?"
Only a "character" like my Aunt Flo could say something like that !
    God bless her.........100 years !...... amazing .

    So sorry for your loss.
It seems though that Aunt Flo was someone who will live on forever in your memories.

My great grandmother was still walking to the store half a mile away at age 95. She died at age 98. My grandmother died at 101. My aunts are into their 90's already.

The women in my (dad's side) family live long. Unfortunately the men don't live as long. My dad died at age 74. I don't know my grandfather as he died in his 50's. Some of us were joking as to why the men don't live long, har har.

Sorry to hear about her passing, Joe!
She did sound like a great character as you said.

Reminds me a lot of my great-grandmother.
    She lived to age 102.
Being born on February 29 she would always give her "Leap Year Age."
So she had "24" birthdays. (She always had to remind us that 1900 was not a leap year.)
I learned a lot about history and family from talking with her.

    RICHARD
