Cast of characters:Me. my hubby Alan, SIL and her hubby...BIL
Dates 4/11 to 4/16

We flew from Pittsburgh to LV on Southwest. First time with them. Left at 6:30pm...30 mins late due to weather. Not a bad flight, will fly with SWA again if a good price can be had. Flight was full but we did get the exit row so that was a score.

Car rental with Dollar. A little apprehensive about the new rental facility but was very happy with the ease of the whole setup. Get on the bus, get off, go straight to kiosk and right to the car. Chrysler Sebring 4 door. Decent enough for the 4 of us. Pretty easy setup for return...just follow the signs.

Hotels were the Paris for 2 nights...comped and then downtown for 3 nights with us at the LV Club and the inlaws at the Plaza, all comped. We checked in at the airport for Paris and our room was on the 26th floor with a view of the balloon and front of the property. Chocolate brown and red decor with cream accents. Very nice. Comfy beds. As for the other hotels, clean and comfortable. Nuthin fancy but doable.

As for gambling...I had my a## handed to me the first 2 days. Lordy was it awful. I couldn't win at anything. I even had my money stuck in a pop machine with no pop in return. But on Friday well...
Friday the 13th was my day! Started out playing 3 card poker at Red Rock.
$10 bet on the pairs plus and a straight flush in my hand. Thank you very much. Then the very next hand I was dealt 3 of a kind. We all were having a very good day. My BIL kept hitting on the penny machines. Some of the new ones out are just a hoot to play. We were over at the Plaza and they were announcing thier sit and go poker tourneys. $40 buy in for $1000 in chips. $240 for 1st place and $90 for 2nd. Welllll....I had just enuff liquor in me and I said I wanted to play. Sticky...this is for you. I ended up winning the damn thing. I was in complete shock!!!!! Alan then made sure that they knew I was a poker virgin by pushing me to explain I had never played poker before. The dealer started laughing but the guy I beat was not amused.

We then went to Sunset Station and had a great time there playing Pai Gow and other games. But the highlight was seeing Mikey. He was dealing rapid roulette so I spent some time and $$$$ there. He is just the BEST!!

The inlaws spent Sunday at the drag races while we hung about playing downtown. Of course we ate several shrimp cocktails at the Golden Gate
and had large fruity rum based drinks...at least I did. We did play alot at fitzgeralds our last night there and really liked the vibe.

Monday came to quick and before we knew it we were on our way home.
Alan and I will be back in the fall for the PBR and will be there for a week.
Hope you all have a great time on youe upcoming trips.

Thanks for sharing, did you eat anywhere fantastic?? Sounds like you had a good trip overall.Did you end up coming home a winner??

LVLady...we ate at a lot of 241 buffets. Fatburger, food court kind of thing.
My SIL is a picky eater...not complaining... and I find that these places offer the best for all. We came back about $600 less than we went with but I did some shopping and we tend to overtip a bit. But this was more or less a low roller trip. Now this fall will be much differenet as it will be just the 2 of us.
Of note... the Silverton buffet was really GOOD. We went for lunch and the food was very yummy. The buffet room is quite pretty too.

Nice Rebound

Jamie - thanks for the TR. The turn around on the gambling was a fun deal, heh!
Congrats on the fantastic win at the poker tourney. Glad y'all had a good trip.

later,scott
