I have played MV since the beginning of the program. Redeemed numerous times for many things including GC Heli Flight, Mirage Suite stays, etc. However as time has gone by it has become a lot less fun to redeem since I stay at CET props. I'm Diamond so no resort fees either, and I can get most food comped at back-end because of play. With MV I do receive 6 premium and have over 3.5 million LPs yet to use.

I used to redeem for a couple of MIrage buffets, Secret Garden entry, Love ticket, cheesecake, NFI dining or maybe another random item. However most of my preferred rewards have disappeared in a no-stay format.

Now that most mLife props offer a 72 hour redemption period (exception still seems to be NYNY & possibly MB) after loading on your card, I'm asking for opinions on booking a one night MV comp and paying the resort fee (estimating $50). Then booking 5 other premiums that would be usable within the 72 hour period that would put me 'ahead' cost wise. 4 if I also redeemed a show. (Buffets, etc). My own opinion is that I feel I would be 'working' at trying to earn back my resort fee just to get a small amount of additional value out of it. Plus spending a lot of time traveling back and forth to an mLife property to eat a free buffet/meal.

I am just looking for opinions on what others think of what current rewards you feel would make it worth it to do something like this (assuming I can even line up a MV reward night)? I am not looking for any lectures on I should just become loyal mLife - I have received free offers from them in the past due to play but it has always capped at 3 nights (I stay 5) and the available nights were always more limited on the calendar, where CET is more open and only minimal non-comped nights.

    Thanks.

    I'm not sure I understand what you're asking for . . .

Are you looking to see what comps that you could get to "maximize" you're redemption if you book one comp night?

For me, it would depend on how much you want to come "out of pocket". I think that the Camelot Steakhouse at Excalibur is a very good deal, especially now that they've discounted it "heavily", but it requires that you come out of pocket cash.

Otherwise, for me it would be the buffets, maybe the Tournament of Kings or one of the Cirque shows.

Pretty much what I'm asking for opinions on. Cirque shows (so far) still don't require a stay as far as I know, and last trip Love (which I have seen 9 times lol) was blacked out every night of my trip. So I can do Cirque without the stay. Just looking for opinions on what people think would 'make it worth' it to spend fifty bucks for a resort fee and the extra 'time' to go back and forth to. (Not looking at a rental car this trip).

Also need to know how many people in your party, and what, if any is your cash outlay budget.

If you don't eat at buffets, and your cash outlay budget is $0 (not your actual cash outlay budget, but what you WANT to spend), there's really nothing that makes it worth getting an mLife room.

My situation is a little different because I'm VIP level 7 and can get "custom" comps.

For this trip I would be alone - that makes the 'payback' harder to do than it would with a two person trip.

My normal 'spend' per day when I am in Vegas is $500 per day - likely that sounds very small, however I roll through everything numerous times and earn (CET wise) 500-1200 TC per day. My CET offers are 5 comp nights basically year round (even comps during NFL draft in April, NYE, etc) and offers range from $50 FP to a single use $400 dining credit (they have a wide range and aren't always logical lol) if I book using an offer. Most to all food is comped off at CET on the back-end due to play. So I don't NEED to spend money out of CET to eat somewhere else. (And I have no issue with buffets - I normally do minimum of 1-2 per trip).

Just thinking it would be nice to try some different places and trying to determine what items can I associate with a comp stay at mLife to make it worth paying a resort fee out of pocket. Since I don't NEED to spend money to have a 'free' food/beverage trip, I would only want to spend the time & effort if it was a positive outcome in the end. I wouldn't be looking at $10 off a $50 purchase or more, etc. I actually have some comp rooms at Luxor & Excal during appropriate dates, so I could use one of those & have one more MV reward to redeem - just prefer Mirage or Bellagio where I have stayed before a few times if I decide to do this, which is why I was looking at using one of the 6 premiums on a room.

There's a possibility that maybe adding up the freeplay and match play rewards that require a stay at any property could net way more than the resort fee costs, but requires the bankroll outlay and ... winning. So if you arent going to play $25 in blackjack anyway then the match play is a bad deal, but it doubles your bets. And then the slot freeplay could also pay back without the cash outlay, but it might not also. If you're just trying to kill off some LP seems like you could accumulate more than $100 in freeplay at once with 25 at multiple resorts, unless they dont let you do that, but I've seen several have done it with the konami freeplay.

The Konami is allowed & doesn't need a stay because of the high cost (it is Premium I believe). Per what I am reading users actually have been able to 'stack' it and use it all at one casino in one sitting vs. doing $25 at individual casinos. Also some users report using it on non Konami machines. Doing that would not require a stay and basically just a morning or afternoon walk down the Strip. I have considered this option also. I have the Konami app, so it is something I can purchase. I have no problem playing at mLife, but I don't find the return on my play benefits me as much as it does at CET so I have scaled it back. I believe (haven't paid much attention) that a comp stay through MV no longer allows for redemption of freeplay. That started at MBay, but I believe has no spread to all of them. You need to be paying for your room.

Ok yah, I never stay at MGM properties so I have never cashed the free plays that require a stay. I know the konamis dont but there are some $50 freeplay I saw last night that arent the konami ones and do require stay. If they wont let you redeem on a comp stay though I guess that's a moot point.

That started with Mandalay Bay and now is across the properties. From my understanding you can't even redeem free play if you are staying on any type of mLife offer that is comped or provides any other freeplay with it. Restrictions are so tight now it's just ridiculous.
