Thanks for the report Joe; we got back last night. With the kind of non-luck I had, I'm about ready to take a 5 month break too! (We always go around Halloween.) Thankfully, Ms. Gecko did a lot better than me, which mitigated the carnage considerably. Oh, and for whatever reason, I also find tattoos (and piercings) a major turnoff. And thanks for the tip about ridiculously priced drinks at the Triple George, should I ever go there.

Nice report, Joe. Thanks for taking the time to write something up.

I keep hoping our trips will coincide again sometime, but in the meantime I'll stay at MSS vicariously through your reports

Ummm... you forgot to tell how you were supposed to meet a very faumous guest blogger on Flusher's site... but your flight was late and you missed him?

I bragged for several days to Jose and Kelly at the MSS bar that I was going to meet you... I bragged to Flusher that I was going to meet you! :Þ

I'm so embarrassed... but then again I embarrass myself constantly when I'm in Vegas... so all is forgiven! :goofy:

Thanks for the Trip Report Joe! When I am not playing blackjack, craps, etc., I also play $1 DDB. But I could only find 9/5 DDB at MSS. I have found 9/6 at The Plaza, Golden Gate, LVC, The Cal, etc. So I made mention of that when I filled out an email survey that MSS sent to me. The slot manager said he would check into it. Did you find any 9/6 DDB at MSS this trip?

I only play at the Boar's Bar and yes 9/5 is the best you will find there. Maybe there are better machines on the casino floor?

We have found ourselves playing a bit more at The Cal because they have 9/6 DDB. And The Cal also has 9/6 JOB on the bartops.

    Fremont is also 9/5.

The trouble with The Cal is I like wine. The only wine they have at the casino bars is Liberty Crap, I mean Creek and they serve all drinks in plastic cups because they had one of those cruise ship virus outbreaks about 10 years ago. My favorite bartender usually has a wine glass hidden behind the bar for me, but I'm still forced to drink Liberty Crap.

At the bar at MSS I can at least get J Lohr or Kendall Jackson. Wine connoisseurs need not reply!:nono:

Great tip. I am not a connoisseur, but I'd love a list of red wines and places that comp them in your experience. Just asking for red rarely gets me anything drinkable. Thanks for these two.

Great report Joe, I just got back from the MSS yesterday, I had a good run of cards where I got 4 4OK's in about half an hour(played ddb) at the boars bar, ran my total up to 1400 credits and cashed out expecting $350(25 cent game), it turned out I was playing 50 cents and didn't even realize it and cashed out $700 for my $40 buy in, talk about a thrill.

By the way the whole rest of the trip I only got 4 4oks, so that was an exciting fluke from the norm.

The Chicago Brewing company upstairs at Four Queens used to have some good ones, but when I was there this time, they were pouring out of two liter bottles. It was ok. One more thing at MSS. When I order a wine, the bartenders all pour it right away, but they have to call and get somebody over to approve it. Silly system! I'm playing $1 DDB. I don't know what they would do if somebody is playing quarters? Have to get approval first before they can pour? I'm sure wholesale, they are only paying $6-7 per bottle. Hell, retail you can buy it for $8.

Any time we can come back with the same amount we left with, that's a winner! Granted, coming home with more is always nicer, but no complaints except with the way it started out on Fri & Sat.

I enjoyed the report. I still love being on the strip but always find it a highlight of our trips to hit 777 on night.

Joe, I enjoyed the report, thanks for your post, that Prime Rib sounds great.

You may want to ask for a Tempranillo from Spain, these have a popular price tag, which is another way of saying they are cheap! I am also a fan of Carmenère from Chile. I don't know much about wine, but I know what I like and for about $4-5 a bottle, both are good values.
