Some background information on Mr. G's Pub is a hole in the wall bar and casino near Boulder Hwy. On Yelp they have 12 gaming machines. They are currently running a new member promotion where if you lose $50 they instantly reimburse $50 into the machine which has to be cycled through at least once before cashing out. Has anyone tried it? I am game to try it even if they only have $1 jacks or better and/or bonus poker at 6/5 payout.

My G's $50 rebate is terrific. They immediately load the $50 after losing $50. It gave me a chance to play $1 VP which I never play. I got some close calls such as 4 to the royal and trip aces but no dice but still it is a very good deal. They have denominations from 5 cents to $2 video poker. After losing my $50 then also losing the $50 rebate I played another $20 in a .25 cent DDB and got deuces for $100. The have a daily certain number 4 Oak special where you get to spin a wheel for bonuses. During the time I was there twice I saw a monitor above the bar display a wheel where spinning which indicated someone getting the bonuses. They got $10 free play and $15 free play. These $50 rebate promotions don't last long so grab it while it lasts before it is gone.

    Thanks for the update surf!

If you are in the rebate situation - do you have to stay at the same machine? I would probably like to do my initial play on dollars and then the rebate on quarters. Or maybe the machines are multi-game and multi-denom?

Happy to oblige letsgovegas. On the rebate situation you can change machines if you like. The green money icon lights up green indicating that money is in your account and any amount can be downloaded. I downloaded the full $50. I could have downloaded let's $25 on one machine and then another $25 on another machine. And yes the machines are multi-game and multi-denomination. I was concentrating so hard so as to not make any mistakes that I didn't notice fully the LED screen at the time with the information about the "spin the wheel bonus." As I can see now the spin the wheel bonus activates on fives thru kings and during certain happy hour times. I was at Mr G's from about noon to 1:00 pm so I was there during the active spin the wheel times as well. So if you do go try to go during these spin the wheel times displayed on the screen.

Thanks for the update Surf! I "nagged" you on the Fremont thread also as I hadn't checked this one first. I will try to go back and edit that out if I can.

The info on denoms and how you can use the rebate is quite helpful!

Did you find the Yelp information of 12 machines to be correct?

How'd you do overall? I'm guessing since you activated the rebate that the start wasn't so good, but nice grab on the deuces! Looks like you might have been just about out of the rebate money?

And finally, was it clean and staff friendly?

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Kelly

Hi letsgovegas, to answer your question first from the Fremont thread, Mr G's pay schedule on the $1 JOB or bonus poker was 6/5 for both which is quite lousy but since they rebated $50, I'm not complaining about the poor pay schedules. And yes the Yelp information about the 12 machines is accurate. The bar is shaped like a horse shoe and has bar tops in that U-shaped bar so maybe about 10 machines there. There were another 2 machines at the entrance that I noticed as I walked into the place. I started with my $50 bill and lost that money so I activated the $50 rebate and lost that as well. Finally I put in another $20 bill and that is when I got the deuces. I see now that I had $1.25 left when I got the deuces. I played it down to an even $100 and cashed out. So overall I lost $70 of my own money ($50 + $20 = $70), but cashed out with $100, which gave me a net profit of $30. I tipped the female bartender $5 before I left the place. She was very cool explaining to me how the $50 rebate worked and informed me about the "spin the wheel bonus" and instructed me to notify her if I got any hits so she could activate the wheel for me. So that should answer your questing about friendly staff. As to the bar being clean, I guess I could say it was clean but my standards for clean is quite low (lol). It has the feel of a Gold Spike or El Cortez kind of place. I feel right at home when I used to visit Gold Spike or El Cortez (ha-ha). The Cosmopolitan, Wynn, or Aria is too rich for my taste and I feel out-of-place. Mr G's has the feel of a Gold Spike or El Cortez just so you know ahead of time.

Thanks Surf! All great information. And I appreciate you taking the time to answer all my questions.

Sounds like a fine place to me - we frequently head to Silver Nugget, Jerry's Nugget, Longhorn and a quick hit and run at Bighorn and Lucky club - and all of those are just fine with me! Sounds like our standards are similar.

    Congrats on the net win!

And again, thanks for coming back and updating.

    Cheers,
    Kelly

Sorry to report that this promo is dead.

We tried to go Saturday. The big yellow sign was gone so we kind of knew before we walked in, but tried it anyway.

Two patrons. Two people working. Great customer service ratio!! Lol.

Manager (?) said they stopped the promotion. It had been going on for a year. Seemed shocked when I told him it was reported in the Las Vegas Advisor newsletter.

    Turned around and walked out.

    Seemed ok. Clean.

    Maybe next time?

Aw bummer. My family wanted to do this promotion in May, now I'll have to tell them it's dead. But thanks for the update letsgovegas.
