so friends, we are doing it. Las Vegas has been our happy place all our married life. We always thought we would love to retire there from Clarkston, Mi. Whereas I love the weather here, um, my husband is tired of it. So here we go, we will be there before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anyone from the area that can tell me where their favorite restaurants are, casual and not so casual. Being Vegas vets, we know all the strip haunts, we want to build relationships in our new home. Thanks in advance.

Two suggestions for casual. The Chicago Brewing Co brewery/restaurant is on Ft Apache Rd and Steiner's Pub is on Buffalo Dr. It's been over 10 years, but Steiner's used to run bus outings to various sporting events in CA if that interests you.
The steakhouse and Italian restaurants inside Suncoast were very good, but again that was 10 years ago.

Good luck on the move! If we moved back again, I would choose Summerlin.

I'm jealous. Hate the winters here that are 5 months long. Good luck on your move.

Congratulations! I love Summerlin area. I hope you adapt well to the summer heat. Don't give up after the first summer give it a couple years to get used to it.

I agree on the two that Joe recommended and I have another Italian we liked Near Red Rock casino Dom Demarco's on Hualapai and Charelston. Family run locally owned.

Congratulations on the move. We made the move to Summerlin almost 2 years ago. Originally from Dearborn Mi. Lived in Bonita Springs Fl. for 12 years and then on to Summerlin. One of are favorite restaurants is Market Grille Café, Lake Mead and N. Tenaya Way. Mediterranean style food. Fast food it's Roberto's for crunchy tacos and Café Rio for soft tacos. Both places are chain restaurants and all over the valley.

    Good Luck

Original Omelette House. Near the angel park golf course but IN Summerlin. We love it when accessible for a get away from casino offerings. Breakfast is the best.

Gary, I grew up in Westland and we still stop at Millers when we are at the airport!

Not exclusively "Summerlin," but the west/west-ish side nonetheless:

    POP's Pride of Philly
    Dom Demarco's
    Marche Bacchus
    The aforementioned Omelet House Summerlin
    The Bagel Cafe
    Viva Mercado's
    Chicago Brewing
    Spiedini when it reopens
Grill room at TPC Las Vegas

East of the suncoast is a nice little shopping, dining and bar square. On the upscale but high quality. Forget the name of the shopping complex. You can't miss it though as it directly across the summerlin parkway road

It's called Tivoli Village. HopNuts Brewery is the only place we really go there.

Other Summerlin or near Restaurants we go (all casual):
    • Archi's Thai
    • Yassou (Greek)
    • SkinnyFats (and Beer Zombies in South Summerlin)
    • Amore Taste of Chicago (Temporarily closed - their Vegas location still open)
    Just beyond Summerlin
    • Blueberry Hill
    • Pops Philly Cheesesteak
    • Ramen Tatsu (Chinatown)
