Hi All!! My name is Debby. I'm moving to Henderson in the next few weeks with my boyfriend (we originally met 38 yrs ago in Jr. HS!). Looking so forward to the beautiful weather and incredible landscapes! As far as "The Strip" and Fremont Street, should I get my players cards (for comps etc) from casinos online before I move or is it best to sign up in person? I've also downloaded the American Casino Guide app, but are there also visitors guides with coupons for food, free play etc? I appreciate any advice you can offer to help in settling in!! Thanks so much!! Debby

No reason to sign up online. You have to go in and show your ID to pick them up anyways.

And... sometimes...not always there are some signup bonuses. Since you will be in Henderson, you might find some smaller "locals" that have promotions going on. Once you sign up once, you can not take advantage of them.

    Debby,
As a general rule, that payouts in the local casinos are much better than on the strip. Downtown has some casinos with pretty good video poker. The Four Queens, Fremont, California, Main Street Station come to mind.
Get the players cards and ALWAYS use them.
    Welcome to Las Vegas/Henderson.

Well... congratulations... and WELCOME new residents, we're glad to have you!

Just remember: Don't call it “Nev-AH-da,” or you'll be in trouble. The only acceptable pronunciation of the state is “Nev-AD-a,” not “Nev-AH-da.” Pronouncing the state's name incorrectly can draw ire among fellow residents.

Hi Debbie and other former Rhode Islanders ,

I am originally from RI...born Federal Hill , grew up in Silver Lake and couple high school years in Warwick , but have lived in Albuquerque for many years !

My nephew and brother back there are always making a case for RI as opposed to the west , especially Albuquerque ! :)
My nephew case for RI ..is the beach ! My rebuttal is at best you may get a few good weekends , for beach time !! BUT THE THE WATER IS STILL FREEZING AT THE PIER !! In my opinion , not reason enough to stay there and endure those harsh , freezing , RHODE ISLAND winters !!
Any you former Rhode Islanders agree or not ?

    johnny/albuquerque !
been going to Vegas for years ...every week back when I worked in Albuquerque for a major airline !
Debbie.........Henderson not a bad place ! Where in RI are you guys from ?
