Does anyone recall there being a motel at Imperial Palace? Like as recently as the early 2000’s? I have friend that talks about it, but I can’t seen to find anything on it.

Yes. They were across from the parking garage and the Capri rooms were torn down in late 2011 into 2012 to make way for the LinQ's High Roller.

Never stayed back there but, man, Imperial Pallor was a hole. Fun place but what a hole.

Didn't stay back in the Capri rooms but my first stay in Vegas back in 2003 was at the IP. Good times and great memories. Not a hole to me.

IP was home base for years, I was among the select few who knew of the two elevators ‘hidden’ behind the four elevator main bank. I stayed in some pretty crappy rooms there but was never assigned to that section, must have been some secret rate code. My favorite YouTube video features a point of view camera walk from the front door to the photographer’s Capri room, nonstop it was fifteen minutes long.

I think those elevators were about as secret as the pizza at Cosmo.

I did quite a few stays at IP. Loved the steak place, for the price. And wasn't that book a funky bunker of a closet? Watched a bit of CFB there.

I miss it so much! My grandparents stayed there monthly in the 80s on a Poker Room comp. My first trip in the mid 90s we stayed there when I was 14 years old and I stayed there a few other times throughout the years. Always a great time. The mai tai bar on the left side by the elevators was legendary. If you were having a hard time getting the party started - say no more. One mai tai and you'd be well on your way!

Not close to 15 minutes, but classic. I love how the noise of the casino fades out the closer he gets to the room. The last few twists and turns are great.

Perfect! I like to watch it with an adult beverage in hand to complete the illusion, guess that threw my timing off.

Stayed at the Imperial Palace constantly, and in the Capri rooms a couple times, the last was for the Super Bowl in the early '00's.

That video sure brings back memories...they used to have a breathalyzer machine outside of the gift shop. 25 cents. You used a disposable straw and my buddies and I used to gamble over under on blood alcohol content.

I remember it well. It was the old Flamingo Capri Motel, which was absorbed into the Imperial Palace.

A friend of ours used to LOVE it, she would get a room where she could walk right from the parking structure onto the walkway by her room.

Ahhh..the old Imp. I stayed there many times and used to pass the Capri rooms on the way to the parking deck. My fondest memory is when the Mai Tai bar had 2 for 1 drinks starting at 4 PM. Don the bartender made the best (strongest !) mai tai in Vegas and a few of those always gave me a new gaming power focus. They replaced it with one of those touristy frozen drink bars. Don probably retired a millionaire.

I thought he had made it when he went up the last escalator! Can only imagine trying to find that room after my usual alcohol consumption.

My first trip to Vegas in 1977, my mom and I went and through a travel agent we were booked at the Flamingo Capri which had just built a new tower. I remember the hotel smelled “new” and we were the first to stay in our room as they were still completing some of the floors. We had a great time, I remember the pool area was nice, I was down there every day, it had a waterfall and it was the only time in my life I got sunburned. The casino was in the old building and was pretty small.

Those room number plaques on the Capri room doors would be a nice addition to a Vegas memorabilia collection.
