Was looking for a decent deal and found one at the Monte Carlo for next week....then I added the 33.00 resort fee and the 8.00 parking charge. So my good deal, not so good. 41.00 extra per day before you open the door to your room.
Laissez faire I guess....seems like lots of people do not mind but this would add 50% to the cost of the room....I wonder if the valets are getting a cut on the enhanced valet parking charge because I bet they are receiving little in tips?

I believe the parking fee is free to guests. There's also ways to cut into the resort fee depending on circumstances like your Tier, MiLife card etc.
I used to stay at Monte Carlo many moons ago, but these last few years i have only stayed at Caesars. But i still frequent the Casino whenever i'm in town.
I'm sure some people in here will fill you in on the details.

Use your MLife card. Charge everything to your room. Use MLife card on check in for those charges. Everything is points. You will make Pearl in no time so you won't have to pay parking. We didn't even pay the night it was $20 for a concert at T Mobile Arena when we parked at NYNY. The girl standing there collecting money just put my card in the machine.

$80 per night for a world class tourist destination seems like a decent deal.

There is a dumpy motel 6 right down the street from me and they charge $65 per night.

Not trying to state the obvious but you'll see the same situation at just about every strip resort. Average resort fee up and down the blvd is around $28-30 now. Most strip places still don't charge for parking (for now) but, I mean, is $8 really going to impact your Vegas budget THAT greatly?

As always, there's downtown or off-strip if you want to avoid these fees, but then...you're downtown or off-strip.

The M life MasterCard (no annual fee) automatically puts you at Pearl tier, so you can avoid charges for self-parking at all MGM properties in Las Vegas as soon as you have the card. I got one just for that reason. As a bonus, if you charge at least $1,000 within the first three billing cycles (not $1,000 per billing cycle, but over the first three billing cycles), you get a bonus of 10,000 points. I happened to charge over $1,000 in the first month of using the card, and the 10,000 bonus points were credited to my M life account the next month. According to the Web site, the points can be redeemed for free play at the slots, or you can visit the M life desk and have points converted to Express Comps dollars.

Just a heads up but I'm pretty sure there is a lot of construction going on at MC with their remodel. I believe there is a thread somewhere on VMB about it.

Have a great trip!!!

:peace:

i don't have to pay for parking fees. Or tip the valet even though I had to wait. Or walk miles to find my car. Or worry about drinking and driving. Or ride that damn rental car shuttle. Uber/taxi/walking/bus work great. Just sayin'.

Of course, if you drive to Vegas, a bit of a different story.

We stayed at MC a couple of years ago. We did not drive, so parking was not an issue. While we enjoyed our stay, I would have to say that with $40+ in fees, I would not find it worth it. Especially with the Pub, etc. being closed (I don't know where I'll watch the Cowboys in a couple of weeks). Must my opinoin, but unless my room was comped, I'd look for something else.

3 years from now you will look back and think thats a pretty good deal.
