I'm heading downtown in a few weeks when the Packers are playing Monday Night Football. Any suggestions for fun places to watch with some decent drink specials? Having to watch my Pack without Aaron Rodgers will likely induce heavy imbibing. ;)

I am going to try the California sports book for the Packer/Ravens game. I have not been there since the remodel. The remodel does look great!

2nd 777 at MSS. Happy hour whole game and they used to give out some prizes.

The remodeled Cal book is very nice. Watched a few games there last year.

If you can get a spot at the bar, the Fremont VP bar in the sports book is good (atmosphere not great as it can get crowded) but the drink service is even better.

The Long Bar at the D is also nice, but good luck getting a seat!

I watched a game a couple of years ago at the Freemont and it wasn't too bad. They also had the Bud girls giving away things during the game. I think you would pay a lot more for drinks at the D Long Bar than Freemont or 777 though.

If it were me, you'd find me at a VP bar Downtown - probably Boar's Head @ MSS, Ike's Bar@ ElCo, or Chicago Brewing @ Four Queens.

That said, if having the sound is important to you those options won't work. I don't know where would have sound on. If you don't mind leaving Downtown, I would actually recommend Stage Door. They had the sound for the Sunday night game I watched there a few weeks ago. $1 PBR, $2 Coronas. Probably other specials that I never noticed, because I got distracted by the $1 PBRs.

I would go with Cal sports book, either MSS bar or Fremont's new bar. I don't know anything about D's long bar for watching the game. Good Luck!

Get there early, though. Last year we tried to walk in about a half an hour before kickoff and every seat including the bar was taken.

Rum Runner Lounge off Tropicana. Owned by Packer fans and fine folks originally from Wisconsin. My fiancee and I have watched many Packer games there. Awesome spot, great draft specials, good food menu, good crowd, and they pump the audio throughout the place. It gets pretty busy in there but it's huge and we have always found a spot. If you want to be surrounded by fellow Packer fans, go here. Love that place, worth the Lyft!

The Cal has $15 buckets of BL and Coronas and $4 vodka/energy.

I've actually been there for a game many years ago and join in your recommendation for Packers fans. I remember the game well because it was the Buccaneers game where Warren Sapp cheap shotted an offensive lineman, think it was Chad Clifton. A bit farther than I want to travel from downtown this trip though.

Oh yeah, that place is a lot of fun. But honestly if you're looking for cheap beer and good amount of TV, I would say Triple 7s but get there early. Bar is your best bet but I would walk in 60 minutes before. Otherwise I enjoy the sports book at The Cal.

I too will be in town for the Packers Monday night game on 11/6. I have read quite a bit of good stuff on Rum Runner so I'm going to give it a shot. I'll be sitting in the Superbook all day Sunday and figured I'd want a change of scenery for Monday Night. Plus, will be good to have a bar full of fellow fans to commiserate with ... With #12 out, wins are going to be few and far between until he returns.

Anyone have any suggestions on when I should get there to get a good view of a Big TV?

Same here. Honestly, being in town when the Packers were playing on MNF was something I was really looking forward too. Now ... without Rodgers ... and based on what I have seen from Hundley so far ... not quite so jacked up for it. Still interested in seeing how a Vegas Packer Bar does things on game day ... and it will be my first venture off the strip or downtown in any of my trips out there, so I'm still looking forward to it. If you go there, I'll buy you a cold one and help you on the imbibing.

I honestly think Hundley is good enough but our defense has sucked. He can't make up for that, Rodgers is good enough to do that but not Hundley.

Anyway I think you will enjoy Rum Runners it's the place to go.

I love the NFL but the MLB playoffs have been amazing and what a World Series so far....I loved watching first round games at the ARIA sportsbook. Great leather comfortable seats and the great pizza place right outside of it!

Rum Runner has TV's everywhere. No bad seat in the house. There are some tables that sit directly in front of TV but honestly you can't find a bad spot. Good wait staff, fast service, good beer specials, and the audio is pipped everywhere so it gets loud. All excellent reasons to drink/watch there!
