Glad that you all are arriving safe and sound. I have moved from days to hours in the countdown myself - and Continental just sent me the usual advance check-in notice for tomorrow AM.

Gotta push through the afternoon and clear the decks so that I can wing away tomorrow with no worries until Monday...

    See you all soon !

    good route choice Sonya

Good choice of roads to Vegas, just wanted to check that you took the Hy6 & 318 route from Ely to Alamo as that is a lot shorter and the road is great despite not being marked a main road.

    Did you overnight in Ely?

    Thanks Diva! :blowkiss:

Richard - I drove from near Seattle to Twin Falls, ID the first day. Then from Twin Falls, down 93 to Ely. I had made it to Ely in good time (before lunch) and decided to take 93 instead of 318 to Vegas. It added about an hour of drive time, but it was so gorgeous. I really wanted to head up to Great Basin and take a peek, but then I regained my sanity and headed south.

My downfall was getting distracted by Cathedral Gorge. I couldn't leave. :) I easily could have stayed there all day. As it was I stayed way too long and got into Vegas much later than planned.

If I flew here and rented a car for a day outside of town, I would absolutely drive up that way (I 15 to 93N, then 50W to the junction with 6 and 318 back to Vegas). I love the desert and find geology fascinating even though I know almost nothing about it. ;)

I did really great last night. Had a healthy dinner in the room and caught up with my email and online stuff. At about 11:30 I was tired, but felt the draw from downstairs. Wow was that a mistake. :haha:

I hit the casino and it was really busy. Lots of young people drinking and carousing. I felt a little old, but a couple of drinks later, I felt great. I played a bunch of VP with bad pay tables. Best hand was on a triple play bonus poker machine. Got 4oaK in 3's. Too bad it was nickels.

I managed to creep back up to the room around 4:30. Drank a ton of water and crashed in bed. That's why it's 11:30 and I'm barely out of bed.

Slept hard in my very comfortable bed in Monte Carlo. Didn't wake up until the maid hit the wall with her vacuum in the next room over. Other than that, I didn't hear a thing. But tequila and 600 miles of driving could have been more responsible for that than the soundproofing in the room. :wink2:

Done el cortez , ambled down fremont, drank rum, poker at binions, pissed on the berlin wall and I'm now drinking black chip at mss. Been up 16 hours and I'm running on fumes. But it's alcohol fumes so thats ok.

Thanks my friend.... Nothing like feeling I am missing the party...

My bag is packed at the foot of my bed and I am waking up at 4:50 tomorrow to make my flight. I will have as many bloody marys on the plane as they will serve me and see you soon enough...

Hi all, we've checked in at the Cosmo. See you tomorrow or at the poker game on Saturday. For now, I'm going to look out the window and look at the pretty lights...

    ACK! Drunk people!

I had such a great day today. I was so happy to finally get to meet everyone and the day just kept getting more and more fun.

Keno bought me a very expensive drink first thing. Thanks so much for that! :nworthy: And everyone else (too many to mention) were so much fun. I met some really great people today and hope to meet many more tomorrow night (tonight?) at the party.

If you haven't made it to a meet, you really should think about it. We've got pretty amazing group here. Let me put it this way, my cheeks hurt tonight from laughing so much all day.

I'm sure tomorrow I'm going to be saying "Tequila Bad!" but it was worth it.

Sonya, so glad you finally get to experience all the fun that your board has spawned! Beware though... once you've been to a meet it sucks totally to miss one. I miss mah family so bad I have tears in my eyes.

Sitting at gate waiting for door to close. First win of the trip - upgrade to front cabin! Now we will see if the $20 trick works in a few hours...

Continental said flight may be 30 min late but that's normal for Newark and will hopefully make that up.

11am in Boston is 8am in Vegas. Knowing these people they're up. But not having just woken up - they haven't been to bed yet!
