Trips to Las Vegas
28
New member here.

Visited Vegas for the first time in mid-September. What a great time that I had to come back one month later in early October.

My first trip I stayed at Mirage and the majority of my play was there. I had 15k coin-in slots/video poker, and about 6 hours Blackjack at avg $50/hand. Mlife desk took care of all my meals and resort charges. I also had $3,500 coin-in at Aria. This was a 2 night trip. This trip got me to Pearl and about 30k tier credits.

My second trip I stayed at MGM Signature for 2 nights. Majority of play at MGM Grand and Aria, about 20k coin-in split between in them. Also 10 hours 50-75/hand blackjack at MGM. Earned 72k tier credits. Meals/charges taken care of at MGM, but Aria Mlife desk gave an unapologetic "No" when I asked if I had any discretionary comps for a buffet the day after a 5k coin-in night.

From reading around here and elsewhere, I'd think my play is decent enough to warrant some comp room and freeplay offers? As my Vegas bug is itching...when will they start rolling in? And how?

Regarding Aria's "No":
You should just charge the Aria buffet to your room at MGM grand (Yes, you can do that!).
I heard (non-staying) players ask for things at Mlife desk and the person just told the players:
"You can use your Express Comps at any of our restaurants." BTW, that's the primary purpose of Express Comps.
However, a host might and could go out of his/her way to give you something, but that's not common.

Future offers, yes, you will receive them, but not so soon.

Ah, didn't know I could charge while visiting a different property. Good to know and makes sense.

The Vegas bug is alive in me, my local won't cut it anymore. We are planning a trip to Mandalay bay in December now

I would just keep checking your Mlife page for offers to see what comes up. My coin in on my last trip was 5k at the Aria for mostly video black jack and I didn't break a tier but was close. I did not book through the hotel.

That play has the odd offer from Aria for one free night plus $69 room rates on weekends. The rest of the resorts (except Bellagio) that I have never played in are offering one or two free nights, cheap rates and a mix of free play and credit. A few times over the year a random resort has offered free nights, really cheap rates and free play and credit. All are a call to VIP services to set up.

I got some really decent weekend rates and upgrades for my upcoming trip that I was happy with.

We want to try the Mirage in the future so I plan on putting in some time there on this trip coming up.

I was in Vegas about 3 1/2 weeks ago and I got about 45k tier credits playing craps with maybe 3k coin in total but that was all spread out over every mlife casino except Mirage & Luxor.....IF i get any offers I'll post when they show up lol.

I was also wondering how long it takes for offers to show up. I was at Aria end of Sept with $8k coin-in. I'm interested to see what that does as it is more than double my normal gambling and I have been getting decent offers of 2 midweek nights with some FP and RC. I got a new offer from Aria a few days ago on the MLIFE site and it actually went down! Same as usual but this time no FP. I have to assume that offer did not take into account my latest trip. At least I certainly hope so.

I was a steady Mirage customer for years but switched over to Aria once I got the chance to try it for free using MyVegas a few years ago. Then the offers started from them so I've been going ever since. I have actually stopped asking at the MLIFE desk if there is anything to comp at the end of the trip as I always get a no and they make me feel stupid for asking in the first place. I realize I'm a tiny fish to Aria so don't bother. Back when I was at Mirage I always had something taken off my bill though. I still get offers from Mirage even though I have not played there in a couple of years. Might take them up on it next trip for a change. The location is fantastic and I love the pool. The only downfall for me is I find the casino smokey so I like playing at Aria more.

I've stayed on offers at MGM in the past but last month got two nights comped with a little free play at Aria. Received an email offer to upgrade to a corner suite for $75 bucks a night which we took. Upon check in we got upgraded to a Tower suite room on the 30th floor. Didn't end up gambling as much as I wanted since the room was so nice and we spent more time in it than normal. Did hit Pearl on the trip so hopefully lighting will strike twice and I'll see another offer from them. I did have to pay the resort fee on the comped room but they did not charge me the $75/night for the upgrade which I thought was cool. Also enjoyed the Tower Lounge.

I wouldn't wait for the offers to come in, I'd call the property you are interested in and ask if you have any offers. You are more likely to have offers at Mirage or MGM because that's where you played.

This is always a good idea.

I think the way MGM works is probably:

They calculate and generate offers about every three months. They run a job that says, give me all the player accounts that meet this criteria, and they send out the offers. They don't calculate another set of offers for 3 months.

Periodically, they run a job that says, give me all the players that meet the criteria since the offer originally went out (or possibly just the same original job, give me all the players that currently meet the criteria). And then they post that.

And so an existing player gets multiple emails over time for the same offer, and a newer player gets a first email with the offer and it may or may not pop up in their online account.

I don't think that method is random, but the timing of it isn't predictable either, at least not from looking at it from the outside.

Ditto a slower process with mlife. Cosmo seems super fast (15 days or less from trip, in my experience), but like Chuck said, mlife is more cyclical.

My earmark date for great spring offers tends to be the first week or two in November, but nothing is written in stone.

I agree, it might be worth a call if you have close dates you need to book.

Fyi, I'm getting antsy too....I want my spring offers and am chomping at the bit! :D
