Firstly, a general thank you to the VMB - I've been reading avidly for best part of a year and I've it's been a massive help in learning about Vegas from the regulars.

I'm making my first trip to LV in three weeks- staying 5 nights at MGM Grand. We've prepaid our room in order to keep our credit cards clear- does this affect the accrual of Tier Credits onto the MLife account? I plan to make the MLife desk the first port of call once we're all checked in, get my card and sign my wife up and join the accounts and in effect we've already made the spend because the room is paid- but do the TCs only come through night-by-night? We're in a Terrace Suite so if we got all the points in one go this would move us up to Gold and get us the bonus multipliers on Express Comps from the outset.

Welcome to the board. You will enjoy the Terrace Suite.

Your question is a good one.I'm not sure how it will work on a pre paid stay.
I hope MLife does not say you can only get credit for money spent after you have an account.
I would contact them prior to arrival.
    Good luck.

If you pre-paid to the hotel itself via their website, then (it's my understanding) the tier credits from the room should already be added to your mLife account... though I could be mistaken with that.

If you pre-paid for your room thru Expedia, Hotels.com, or any other third party, you won't receive any mLife tier credits.

If you already had an MLife account number when you made the reservation, and had it attached, then you should start to see the Tier Credits come in after the first night. TCs for gambling post with only a short delay; TCs for hotel spend should show up the following morning. Even though you prepaid the entire stay, I expect the TCs will still post on a night-by-night basis, because they have to charge you for the room before they can offset it with your payment.

If you didn't have an Mlife account when you made the reservation, I would suggest going to the MLife desk BEFORE you check in, so you can give the front desk your card when you check in and they can add the info to your folio, and make sure you point out that you need them to do that.

OP did not mention what they will be playing. If slots, you can get your wife a card, but you should put all play on ONE card.

Let us know WHO you prepaid the room to.

Got this sorted- they have linked the reservation to my Mlife and confirmed that points will accrue on a daily basis.

I doubt my wife will be gambling much- and even then spend on the spa etc will just go on the room. Can you use your MGMG room key to bill purchases at other MGM properties (I'm sure I saw that mentioned…)

Dang, I'm in the same boat as you and was hoping to get them all at once so I can get a Buffet line pass right away (My room costs enough to get me to Pearl). Maybe if I talk to a host...

You don't even need a room key typically. They'll have you tell them the hotel and room # along with your ID to confirm the name matches the room records. Most receipts actually have a little checklist at the bottom so just put an X next to you hotel and fill in the room #. Short of the food court places, you should be able to room charge any restaurant at other MLIFE casinos.

I don't think a Buffet Line Pass is what you think it is, it doesn't get you a free buffet. Your Pearl card is the pass. All it does is let you skip the regular line.

That's exactly what I think a line pass is. A free buffet would be nice, but I can afford the buffet. Given the choice, I'd prefer not to have to wait on line.

Ok cool. Free is always good too. Also if you happen to cash in a myvegas rewward for a buffet, some people have been able to use that as a pass to skip the line regardless of tier.
